I think unfortunately all those injuries have finally caught up with us.

The players who had to play loads look burnt out and the guys who've returned from injury aren't up to speed yet.

Don't know about anyone else but this run of form is softening the blow of Klopp's departure for me. Not that I'm saying I want him to go or even that it's his fault but I think it makes it easier to take than if we were finishing on a high.

You have to look at the Dom and Grav signings. Neither have stepped up meaning Endo and Mac playing continuously and now running out of legs. We still can't give them a rest cos they are worse than a tired Mac and Endo.

Endo and Mac would still struggle vs any physicality man for man stuff anyway theyre tiny easily bullied and slow af.

They've clearly both got something. Both made bright starts.

So the City game, best ive ever seen us play vs them and the most ive ever seen City struggle over 90 mins in a game under Pep.

Then came the routine win over Sparta 2nd leg. Then the Utd game that seemed to drain a lot from the players. Felt sorry for themselves, we scraped by Sheffield conceding first and brighton? then utd in the league again failed to finish them off making the same mistakes on the ball and being punished ruthlessly.

Then Atalanta the body language and application from the players was borderline unprofessional it was so bad. And Klopp picking a weakened team for it was bad and if you're doing that you have to atleast make sure theyre up for it. Then the Palace game which is more recent..

City esp with no cl distractions now and Arsenal still in less of a blip than us the leagues probably over. But we can't give up as easily and have to make sure we're not turning up like we have been vs Atalanta and Palace. We have to atleast try and push City all the way even though theyll prob cruise to a 4th title with the fixtures they have left.

Need to somehow picks ourselves up for Sunday away at Fulham. Surely it's time for Jota to start and start as the number 9 and not the right winger.

One of the biggest benefits of Klopp’s departure is I think we’ll get less injuries which will be better but the flip side is we won’t play such good football.

Just weird how fast the season just absolutely collapsed.

Szob and Grav will be absolutely fine long term, serious talent there for both.

For the first time this season I've thought we were hopless against a superior team. Second half we looked out of ideas and just couldn't break them down.

posted on 19/4/24

I don’t think it’s that weird tbh. We be had a large number of results where by we’ve turned around losing positions and had to play hard until the 97th minute, that’s what got us into a position to win things in the first place.

Now we’ve had a few results where by they’ve not managed it, and all have come without Trent, Jota and Alisson. I mean we won last night.

I think they’re just gassed, they certainly looked it by the end last night.

Arsenal are similar, but I saw a stat which said there’s not a single City player that’s started 40 games.

I don’t think there’s much validity in suddenly questioning the signing either, what with us being far higher up the league than last year, it really doesn’t make sense and smacks of emotional incontinence.

We’d all have taken third and a trophy in August, and we may do better than that.

posted on 19/4/24

I should add we also lost a huge amount of experience in the summer. Some called them cheer leaders but it really does make a difference in crunch times.

I think the exp of Matip and Thiago could have helped a lot this season too. Esp Thiago with controlling games.

posted on 19/4/24

IS what it is, have to give it our best and hope for the best maybe a miracle can happen and we win the league. Personally thoughtt we'd be struggling for top 4 start of the season. Was happy with the signings but still had to bed them in on the back of a dreadful season. So a cup and top 4 would be decent, ofc the Klopp news hurts didnt expect that.

It’s been a crippling season for injuries all round and it’s affected every area of the team this time too.

As a group they’ve done really well to get us this far. Let’s hope they win the last 6 league games and see where that takes us.

It’s been a good season though regardless, and you never know, it may be a great one.

Injuries have been horrible yes, factor in the awful decisions we've had go against us and its very very draining no wonder Klopps had enough. All things considered from the season we had last year, the decisions the injuries and quite an overhaul and entire new mf i'd say its gone quite well. To have a league cup and still be in with a shout of the title lastt 6 games i think we'd have all taken that.

Champions League and a trophy after the horror show of last season and losing so much leadership definitely classed as a great season.

I didn’t think we ever stood much chance in the league because we just aren’t as good as City or Arsenal. I’m very frustrated about the home game to Atalanta because that was just unprofessional but no complaints from me on where we will end up in the league.
