CB, DM and an understudy to Salah are the main positions for this summer I think. Then a LW/Striker depending on what happens with Diaz, Nunez and Gakpo.
Can't question Diaz's commitment on the pitch but his numbers just aren't quite good enough, and he's not really able to singlehandedly win a game when the others are off form as we're currently seeing.
If it's true Barca are looking at him then I probably would be tempted to sell.

Apparently Slot is a fan of Summerville, he's doing very well in the Championship. Dutch too, reminds me of Sterling operating on the left, rather than Mane

Buying players a manager is familiar with which is what Ten Haag did.
We need to let our data/analytical team do there job.
Also Carvalho is also doing really well in championship too.
Carvalho has been playing centrally up top for Hull according to whoscored

Don't disagree with the data/analytical teams but Summerville had left Feyenoord before Slot arrived so they've never worked together (unlike ETH and his signings). Not sure it's fair to dismiss it as a ETH move simply because they're both Dutch.
There's something not right with Carvalho. Klopp clearly wanted him and he started pretty well for us before falling out of favour. Then the RBL loan, which on paper looked a great opportunity, fell very flat. Returning him after 6 months wasn't a good look.
But ripped it up for Fulham and Hull. I'm wondering whether he needs to be the big fish in a smaller pond.

Original statement said that Slot is a huge fan. Just like Klopp was a huge fan of Gotze but now we know Slot doesn't really have much of a say other than identify areas.
Being a huge fan isn't really the same as being familiar with the player, is it?
Seems a bit of a bizarre take as a reason to not want a player to me.

Klopp couldn't find a position for him. Played him on both wings and midfield and he could not stake a claim.
If Slot plays a 10 then he could be within a chance.
Continuing on from Ornstein earlier, Joyce has said:
Mohamed Salah is expected to remain at Liverpool with Michael Edwards a huge advocate of the player.
Richard Hughes will open contract talks with Salah over a new deal before it expires in 2025.
----
If the plan is a new contract for Salah you'd surely expect the same for VVD.
Trent is probably the only one we have to really worry about now.
Don't they have to say that about Salah to maximise the fee the Saudi's pay.
He's definitely staying, what's that 100m. Okay you've forced us into it.
Opposed to we will be moving him on in the summer. For 40m we will take that problem to Saudi for you Mr Liverpool.
I'm surprised Edwards is happy to give Salah a new contract, not bad news by any means, unless you're Mamba perhaps.
