Should be anywhere near the England squad this summer and I don’t expect him to be.

Arsenal will probably challenge again next season but I don't see them having the serious amount of luck they have had this season.

This year they've had everything go their way. No injuries, plenty of dodgy var decisions in their favour, teams constantly playing their B team every other week against them or least missing their 2-3 best players, favourable playing slots from the TV companies, early cup exits. Yet still looks like they will come up short.

Don't forget too that Arsenal have had a core 8/9 players who have played 3600+ minutes this season and then 90% of those are also heading to the Euros/Copa America.

We saw how knackered we were in 22/23 after an equally mentally and physically draining season.

I would take the money if it’s over 70 million, not enough output for me.

Nunez can play there, I prefer him on the left anyways.

I'm half in this boat too, if we were to lose any of the forwards it would be Diaz for me. He's not clinical enough considering some of the chances he's had but then we would lose our forward that's best at carrying the ball, at speed too.

He fluffed the pass to Salah against Villa and he almost fluffed the pass to Gomez too for Gakpo's goal which is frustrating as he clearly can do it, but it's more than just a recent dip in form I think

Maybe it was, but we won the league by about 20 points in the very rare year where it fell nicely for us, so not sure what your point is really.

He's shown enough for me. Everything is on point except the last pass or the finish. Let's see what a new manager can get out of him. We can still get 70m for him next season.

I think Arsenal are definitely challenging next year, they're playing with the mentality for it and they've taken big scalps this year.

Funnily enough, if they didn't play so cautiously at City and park the bus they probably would have won the title. Wasn't expecting that from them

posted on 15/5/24

Maybe it's just the way I'm looking at things. This City era is defined by Pep and Klopp setting ridiculously high standards in terms of points tally and what's needed to challenge for the league.

I'm just impressed that Arsenal have risen to the challenge this season...and wish more teams would.

I'm the opposite, I don't want anyone else challenging that - I want to be able to say Klopp was the only one that could beat Pep

Pep made some comments the other day about the other clubs that have outspent City over last few years and should have more to show for it - thought it was interesting he didn't include Liverpool there

Most top half teams have spent loads bar us Newcastle and villa I think.

Yeah, couldn't care less about other teams challenging City unless its us, why would I.

Certainly don't want the likes of United or Chelsea challenging them for that's sure.

This seems a daft thing to say given they're likely to finish on 91 points but I don't think City have been at their best this year. They've lacked the fluency of previous years imo.

Part of that is injury, they've lost KdB for a large chunk of the year, Stones has been in and out, Haaland out for a period. Part of that is form, Grealish not playing well, Doku hot and cold, Nunes and Kovacic both in and out of the team.

Worryingly for the rest of the league, I actually think City might get better next season. Much better.

posted on 15/5/24

City not at their best (which I can kinda agree with) and they still might walk away with a league & cup double

posted on 15/5/24

Doesn't help that they now have the psychological edge over most sides before a ball is kicked.

There's been quite a few occasions this season that teams have troubled them when they've actually gone at them, but too many just sit back hoping to salvage a 0-0.

Even Arsenal did that at the Etihad.

Not daft at all, they're definitely been below their standard. Rodri missed a few games and they suddenly lost a bunch in a row which has definitely made them look vulnerable. In the big games they've not been very convincing either

They just look a little hungover from winning a treble, but not enough to stop them winning again

It’s strange, you could be describing Nunez and he gets absolutely battered for it. Not saying by you, I can’t remember what your opinion is on him, but by quite a few….
