My fear is losing Trent and Salah, the drop off in quality would be huge so if we did I suspect we’d be in a tangle.

Saying that, I’d take top four and a good run in the cups as my expectations are fairly low.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Next season I just want to see a pattern of play that is entertaining and that I think can have us challenging.

Not many managers win the EPL in their first season. Pep didn't. The only ones I can think of are Mourinho, Ancelotti and Conte - all Chelsea actually. So I don't think we'll challenge for the title but if Slot starts to show he can get a high performance out of the team, learns the league and finishes strong - that'll do for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah me too, although I’d actually be happy for us to be a bit less attacking, or at least when we’re two goals up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely this. Just play with a bit more common facking sense to start seeing out games.

When we are 2 goals up, we don't need to have 6 players in the opposition penalty area, and we don't need to be playing square balls across our own penalty area to gift teams back into the game.

And starting them tbh!

Diaz is amazing on the halfway line, beats players for fun but can't replicate this closer to the goal. I just don't see him enough near the pen area and that is the problem. He is our best dribbler but his G/A is very average.

I couldn’t give two shiiiiiiit what his Dad says and I don’t know why anyone does.

Can he improve? Sure, but he protects the ball as well as anyone in the league, works his nuts off, is rarely injured, has pace and can play anywhere across the front three.

How we’ve gone from the best front five to having people suggest that all five could go at one stage or another on here I don’t know but I find it fickle in the extreme myself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
doesnt protect the ball well at all he hogs it too long and often loses it, he can barely complete a simple pass and with all the pace etc he barely beats his man. hes overrated to fack imo but if you like him so be it.

posted on 15/5/24

when he goes on dribbles its usually sideways or backwards anyway if thats what u mean by keeping the ball well. Often a simple pass would keep it better anyway it achieves fack all.

I would take the money if it’s over 70 million, not enough output for me.

Nunez can play there, I prefer him on the left anyways.

posted on 15/5/24

he can do his no look shooting bs at barcas training ground whilst having one of the worst conversion rates of a forward in the league.

Honestly who do we realistically see stepping up to City next season?

If Arsenal do miss out again it could be draining and hard to go again. But i dont see them stopping strengthening and spending big again either. Theyre at a point now where another Rice like signing will surely be enough, probably a forward like Toney could do it tbh.

City will go for Paqueta and sell Grealish and buy a proper left winger. Also don't rule out a Rodri regen.

Yeah but i dont see a huge improvement for them just a squad improvement really. Arsenal could improve by signing a top forward for sure and anyone dropping to the bench as a result would improve their squad a lot more than anything city can improve on imo.

What would you say City need to improve on most? Arsenal its clearly a striker, us its clearly a DM and some more def options. City???

Arsenal will probably challenge again next season but I don't see them having the serious amount of luck they have had this season.

This year they've had everything go their way. No injuries, plenty of dodgy var decisions in their favour, teams constantly playing their B team every other week against them or least missing their 2-3 best players, favourable playing slots from the TV companies, early cup exits. Yet still looks like they will come up short.

Partner for Rodri
Left winger and maybe a Bernardo replacement

They need a right back and possibly a left back although Gvardiol has got better in that position as the season has gone on.

KDB needs looking at too, plus Kova ain’t getting any younger.

Not sure who would buy Grealish actually. Utd won’t (but should), Spurs amusingly bought the fraud Maddison, Arsenal don’t need… we’d be a decent fit but have other priorities.

There is always Chelsea I guess.

Yeah, i do feel theyve had a lot of luck this year ngl. They did well for the first half of the season scraping results not playing well. Arteta tryna squeeze havertz in to work playing partey rb dropping Gabriel etc. Injury wise Timber aside theyve been blessed. Timber will surely be like a new season for them next season forgot about him. Amount of times theyve faced teams who were missing a lot of key players too it just got amusing to me in the end. If they had our luck with decisions too Arteta would have exploded by now.

No1 else actually think West Ham was always the bigger threat to City out tof the last 2 games? Lot of that team will want to do it for Rice and Moyes, and Moyes will want to go out on a high?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From memory Moyes' away record against the traditional top 4 + City since the takeover is unbelievably poor. Something like 1 maybe 2 wins in 60 attempts.

It ain't happening.

Timber is bang average imo

Maddison is 100% a fraud player. I told Spurs fans there is a reason why no other big club went for him. He has Spurs DNA written all over him.
