Don't think you know what an obstacle is.

There are very few examples of players who would walk into teams around the world and get paid so much more to sign a contract renewal at there current club in October.

Trent is off for me.

I’d be surprised if Trent stays, of course I hope to be proven wrong and will be delighted if so, but I think he will go to Madrid. I actually think he will flop there like so many others. Very few leave Liverpool and go onto better things.

No one outside the ‘inner circle’ has any idea what’s going to happen. Plenty of guesswork and plenty of generic reasoning of why he’s likely off to Madrid. Personally I think he’s more likely to stay, there’s been hardly anything of substance suggesting that Madrid are even in for him or that he wants to go there, and that’s virtually unheard of these days.

If it was just Trent in isolation then I’d be more concerned, but the fact it’s the same situation with our other two massive assets makes me believe it’s mainly down to the upheaval at the club and for around twelve months we’ve had no one at the club actually responsible for contracts. It’s an extremely poor situation we’ve let develop, but I think it’s that simple.
