Arsene would rather have the cut than pay for Cesc to come back to Arsenal

After three seasons back at the Nou Camp, the overall cost of the Fabregas deal so far stands at just over £28 million.

Arsenal got mullered there.

I would say that a principal reason arsenal aren't bringing fabregas back is because they think they'll get a couple of million from the profit share.

If barca are happy with a higher amount upfront rather than a transfer fee via instalments, this could make wenger look like a right idiot- a loser in fact.

DJ being irrelevant again.

Typical Arsenal..Mourinho wouldve bought Cesc back 2 weeks ago if he was his former manager regardless of the competition in that position. Fuming over this.

If it happened then Wenger will truly be Mourinho's bítch, bad enough he hasn't managed to beat him in a game yet.

We have for no balls when it comes to the transfer window. The amount of times Chelsea have just come and p.issedon our targets

No, redinthehead, the principal reason we are not bringing back Fabregas is because we have other areas of the team we need to improve.

As if Arsenal are that bothered about half of very little.

Strange how people get so excited about newspaper speculation.

A midfield of Ramsey, arteta, ozil and cazorla can be improved on.

When fit, it's a good mf but Cesc is better than them all

Exactly, DJ. The only real talking point about that article is how Arsenal got shafted in the first place by giving up their prized possession for what turned out to be a relatively small amount.

Dont see why benching Cazorla for Fabregas would be an issue. Wilshere, Diaby and Rosicky all spend time on the injury list so signing Fabregas would be a great improvement. Strength in depth my friend.

Or benching ozil for fab

posted on 8/6/14

No point in having strength in depth in midfield and then having to go into the season very weak in defence and attack.

posted on 8/6/14

Arsenal don't want Cesc because we have other priorities which involve losing one of our best players to one of our 'rivals' and Wenger flying to Brazil to commentate on the world cup.

posted on 8/6/14

Youre' being completely ridiculous

Arsenal had first refusal on fabregas. if they wanted him, they would have got him and chelsea were powerless to do anything about it. If Chelsea get him, its BECAUSE Arsenal didnt want him. and why should they, when attacking midfield is the position where arsenal least need to strengthen.

sorry OP but fans like you really shame your club IMO

Ozil is a genuine playmaker though, will deffo see the best of him next season. Can have Cesc and Ozil interchange positions just like Santi and Ozil do.

We really did get scre.wed over with that transfer fee. Less than 30 million ffs.

Not bothered about half of the fecking profit. About 2 million whoopee.

Arsene Wenger is going to Brazil, what a disaster. Being at the very place the majority of our transfer targets will be.

Arsene, you should stay at home in London.

"The issue is not a deal-breaker and there is hope that progress could be made on a deal this week. But it once again highlights the fact that Chelsea view FA Cup winners Arsenal as direct rivals."

So hold on one minute, that's a copy/ past from the article itself. I thought the deal was done already and should have been announced on Friday!

First refusal really isn't as important as you seem to think it is. Even with first refusal, you can still be beaten to signings.
