Pointless argument.
Both are wrong for different reasons but whilst one thinks extremism is the answer it will never end.
So anyone claiming Palestine is an innocent victim has absolutely no clue what they are talking about and I pity you, I really do.

What I want to know is how come when the eventual ceasefire does happen, what the hell do the Palestinians get out of it?
Israel generally do the odd mission even during ceasefires with the inevitable 'collateral damage'
the Palestinians still live in stifling poverty
the Palestinians still live in the most densely populated country
the Palestinians still have a small share of the natural resources such as water (heard 90% of the water they do have is undrinkable according the UN)
The Israelis during a ceasefire get everything they want, as their only real downside is Palestinians terrorism, the Palestinians lives are still miserable during the ceasefires so quite frankly what is the point for them?!

Strawman argument. I don't think everyone sees them as "innocent victims". But they're still victims of an arrogant, oppressive state, uninterested in diplomacy, who have subjugated them to lower class status and imprisoned them on their own land.
Let the 2-state solution and ceding of illegally occupied territory be put on the table and then the whole world can rightly crack down on Palestine if they still seek to wipe out Israel from existence.

Most agree Israel are being heavy handed but also recognize what sparked this latest round of fighting.
Its a no win situation and cannot be resolved, has to be compromise, and the first step toward that is Hamas ceasing terrorist activity and recognizing the state of Israel.
Until that happens, this doesn't end, but if that happens we will see that Israel will act positively, end embargoes and all the other shenanigans.

......................................................
I wasn't belittling it just couldn't remember their exact goals and it was a bit off topic from the side issue.
A fairly well balanced debate by most on a forum where usually the most used word begins with C.
I'm surprised however no one has yet mentioned the real reason all this is going on. Jerusalem.
Since the beginning of time it seems wars have raged over this city and it is the same today.
Ultimately all 3 religions of the book all want Jerusalem as their own. Christianity as this is where Jesus was crucified, Judaism as this is where King Solomons Temple was built and Islam as this was the first Qibla (direction of prayer).
Hence why the zionist Jews 'chose' Palestine as where they would create their desired state which they see as the Land of Israel, but was populated by Arabs.
However according to orthodox jews, Israel is not meant to be. They reject the state and reject the zionist jews that have taken it upon themselves to create this state. Orthodox Jews in fact believe as per the Torah they are in divine exile from their land and this will only change upon the arrival of the anti christ - Dajjal, when Muslims believe Imam Mehdi will arrive. Up until this point in time, the orthodox jews are an ally of the muslims against zionists. Once the anti christ appears is when the fractions between the orthodox jews and muslims will begin. They wont be burning flags of Israel then I assure you.
The Zionists in 1947 were supported by the British in their quest to take back Palestine and since then Palestine has slowly been over run and invaded by the zionists bent on having their own state.
As this diagram shows
http://www.thehypertexts.com/images/israel-palestine_map.jpg
it is a clear invasion and Israel will not stop until they have claimed all the land. That is simple to see even to the ignorant. The Palestinians have in the space of 60 years been expelled from their country and made to live like peasants without basic rights. Gaza is being suffocated by Israel in a bid to slowly crush it and take full control.
Israel control the air space and the sea surrounding Gaza. The Gazan's cannot send fishing boats outside a certain distance or everything will be confiscated. There are war ships lined up on the coasts of Gaza. For what? I know people that have been to Gaza for aid so these are facts.
All import of building materials is banned, so they continuously bombard this area and the people have no means to rebuild other than with mud? The West only interfere where they have a vested interest. Iraq and Iran we all know what the West wanted from them. Libya we all know what they wanted from there. Look at these countries now, in ruins.
There is nothing they want from Palestine and hence they need not interfere. Also they will not interfere because they have Israel here to cause unrest in all the middle east and collectively with everything that is going on right now, they are succeeding.
If you were these last few Palestinians in a country that was once yours would you not retaliate? Would you not defend your land? There is no military in Palestine so Hamas is their equivalent. So now they are vilified for defending themselves against the mighty military of the West (Israel)?
Some people really need to wake up and see what is really happening out there. Not everything you see on the tv is the truth. Take your blinkers off.
"Let the 2-state solution and ceding of illegally occupied territory be put on the table and then the whole world can rightly crack down on Palestine if they still seek to wipe out Israel from existence."

They want to continue the killing. What a beacon of light Israel is to the region!

You really need to get your facts right.

My facts are wholly correct, Israel rejected a cease fire agreement in favour of a small 12 hour pause.. What a beacon of light they are to the region!
Cinciwolf, there was an agreement for a two state solution back in 1993, why did right wing Israeli settlers oppose this plan and assassinate their president?
What stops Netenyahu adopting this agreement once more?
Your views would be interesting.

They've already said that's exactly what they will do - it's not a secret !

Get rid of Hamas and make a proper peace plan..
.......................................................
Before Hamas grabbed a decent amount of power Fatah were the big power brokers in Palestine....
Guess what, same problems. Israel even accused those guys of being too extreme and saying they couldn't possibly deal with them... until Hamas came along.
Do people not realise the biggest extremist is actually the Israeli president?

They wouldn't label people terrorist if they weren't carrying out attacks of Israelis citizens. It's not fun just labelling people terrorists. It's not until recently that they accepted that Israel aren't going away and therefore need a state.

And latest this evening, Israel has rejected a ceasefire agreement.

Don't be labelling the Irish cause as "some other nonsense" just cos you haven't done an essay on that conflict.
......................................................
I wasn't belittling it just couldn't remember their exact goals and it was a bit off topic from the side issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i totally agree the resolution handling for the two areas should be carbon copied where possible. Was a little about your summation of the Irish cause though

The fact 7 the Arab says he would happily FIGHT for those groups sums up the mentality.
Maybe try diplomacy hey
.....................................
Yeah why didn't the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto try a bit of diplomacy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because it was a preconceived idea to wipe the whole people out and nothing to do with diplomacy? You can't really compare two things that are totally nothing alike..
