We would improve massively if we signed Di Maria along with Khedira/Alonso (cant see us bringing in any though). A player like Di Maria coming to us would send a message that we mean business, he would give the whole club a lift, fans and players alike.

Either way, it gives us options, and attacking options in depth with real quality.

£16m, unfortunately, is the price of a squad player, these days. Who steps up out of Rojo, Jones, Smalling and Evans will be up to them, not their price tag.

The only players with adequate replacements there are Mata (Kagawa) and Rooney (RVP).

Isn't Khedira going for 8-10 million?

£60m for Di Maria

If khedira is available for 6-8 mill and we don't go for him then ed and LVG need shooting.

If khedira is going for 8 mill there will be other clubs interested, no way he will come to us over a Bayern or even a Chelsea at this point in time.

I think Bale is better than him and obviously Ronaldo if he counts. Not really many else. DI Maria is brilliant.

Problem is though if he already wants to leave Real would likely accept say a £40m bid for him. Paying more is just wasting money. Money rather spent increasing his wages to lure him in.
