You do understand we need to have 2 wingers?
Even with Januzaj in the side in Saturday were you not at all worried about our lack of pace?
A quality winger is very much needed, as is a quality CM and quality CB. This is due to years of neglect thinking things were fine and not splashing the cash on real quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have faith that januzaj will step up and become a quality player.
A CB and CDM are more of a priority than a winger at this stage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't to grasp the point.
It's no good having one good winger, because to play a winger you need two good wingers.
Young and Valencia will NEVER be good enough now for a 433.
What if Januzaj is injured? I too really rate him and would have him as a starter, but for him to play on the wing and to develop we need a second winger.
Our play is slow, lethargic and boring to watch, has been since a certain Ronaldo left.
I'll let you figure out why.
Apparently all last year we were gearing up for a big name signing. This is the biggest signing we can hope for this summer, the Vidal deal won't happen. If Woodward does not get this done, this club for the sake of transition, continuity and rising back to the top would need someone to replace him from his player negotiation duties.

Another key point is the system LVG plays.I think he is exactly the type of manager that will purchase players based on how they can fit into his system.I do not think he will change his system just so we can bring in a certain player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Strootman being injured in the WC, causing a formation change last minute would indicate otherwise.
As would his quotes saying he wants to play 1-4-3-3 but doesn't have the wingers.

£60m is the sort of money you spend on the very best imo.
and doesn't Di Maria fall under that category?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry Di maria should not be worth 60 million quid. I know we are desperate here, but let common sense prevail.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
never really that fussed about fees personally but yeah, 60 mill for Di Maria is nuts really
Rather have him for 60 mill than not have him at all but we still need, in my opinion, a CM far more than Di Maria
I'm sure Januzaj will make it, but we still need another winger.

He has actually stated that I believe
If LVG persists with 352, then spending £50mil on Di Maria would be madness
If he switches to 433, then a winger is a must

4-3-3 is his 'philosophy'
3-5-2 is his formation for teams he doesn't rate

Both are left footed BB
Would be nice to have a right footed one that is actually top class too
we need a CM and a winger imo.
Rojo was given the #5, would that suggest he's our main CB business?
VIK,our wingers had the ball in good positions loads vs Swansea, but Young kept passing backwards and Januzaj just couldn't break them down.
If Woodward does not get this done, this club for the sake of transition, continuity and rising back to the top would need someone to replace him from his player negotiation duties.
-------------------------------
I would bet my house the Woodward is chomping at the bit to get a deal like this done. He needs it, after all his posturing.
It will be LvG that would put an end to this. Not Ed.

Hopefully not. We apparently contacted his representatives as soon as the WC finished, and we still placed bids for Vermaelen.
Maybe, that means we're looking for another defender?
Signing Di Maria could well be the making of Ando with his quick passing in centre midfield
TBF, there is little to nothing which suggests we will sign him, or are even interested

That would be ace
The facts are simple really
Van Gaal has stated we dont have a top class winger like Ronaldo or Di Maria
Woodward has stated we have money to bid for the best players and we can break transfer records if we want
Di Maria has asked to leave Madrid
Circumstances don't get much better than that
I think this is maybe 1 situation that will give us a clue about where we are
