Shock horror roger back floyd and manny backs himself to win.In other news the sky is blue and the grass is green.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Roger calls all of Floyd's fight easy, even when they are not.
Pacquiao has never said this is going to be an easy fight for me.

So why all the sarcastic shock horror then?
Or do you really think Pacquiao says this all the time?

Has Pacquiao said this about any of his previous opponents?

The big question is how much Manny's bottom lip was going when he said it
If you watch the interview Manny looks really serious about it. He sort of sniggers a bit and dismisses Floyd as an easy fight.
Read into that what you will but I've never seen Manny speak about an opponent that way.

The big question is how much Manny's bottom lip was going when he said it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is there's really not that much for Manny to be afraid of.
He knows that Floyd's not going to hurt him in the ring. Floyd won't want to engage in a war with Manny.
Also Manny doesn't really have much to lose in this fight. Most people expect Floyd to win and Manny doesn't have an unbeaten record to protect like Floyd does.
Think your gonna see the pair of them up their 'promotional' games in the next month Superb. Anything to sell that so important PPV to the public.
I think in Manny and Floyd's mind this HAS to be the biggest PPV ever or it will be seen as a flop.
Think your wrong in thinking Manny doesn't have a lot to lose in this fight. He has to at least push Floyd close or his legacy could well be in tatters afterwards.
Derby that interview with Manny was from quite a while before the fight was announced so not sure if it was anything to do with Manny selling the fight.
It was an interview with Sky and Jonny Nelson asked him a simple question and he answered it.
Floyd on the other hand is the one with by far the most to lose though. His unbeaten record is on the line. His self confessed title as the best fighter ever is also on the line.
Everything Floyd does these days is based on and built around that unbeaten record he has. If he loses that then it changes everything for him.
Manny already has losses to Marquez and Bradley on his record so a loss to the self confessed best fighter ever won't make too much difference to him in the grand scheme of things.
Didn't realise that Superb, would say then that (especailly as he was smirking) he was probably prodding the rattlesnake more than anything else
Think they've both got a lot to lose but would agree that Floyd has more to lose,
VIK, you the one saying that we have heard it all before.
Even though we haven't.

Vik the difference here is that we've never heard Pacquiao say that he'll easily beat another opponent.
Not to my knowledge anyway.
Has Pacquiao seen a weakness in Floyd that he believes he can easily expose?
That's my interpretation of it anyway.

I think you are reading into pacquiaos comment way too much. So what if he had a serious face? Manny isn't exactly one to joke around. The guy is a politician so he knows how to come across all serious and business like
-----------------------------------
Wouldn't say I was reading into it too much. Just bringing what is a very interesting comment from Pacquiao to attention.
It's a big claim to say that you can beat Floyd easily when nobody has managed to beat Floyd yet. Let alone easily.
More so when you consider that Pacquiao never normally speaks like that.
Either way maybe Manny made these comments to try and goad Floyd into the ring. He did say this well before the fight was agreed.
Something different happens VIK insists it is just the same

Sounds like you are reading into it too much. I do not find anything at all interesting about his comments
---------------------------------
That's fine.
May I ask why you keep commenting on it then if you supposedly don't find anything interesting at all about it??
If Pacquiao's comments don't bother you in any way and you don't find them at all interesting then don't comment
I think it's something for his fans who are worried to grab hold of, and I think Manny was stirring the pot. Another soundbite that can be picked up if the fight didn't get made.
It did and now on May 2nd we'll found out who the best of them is.
I think it's something for his fans who are worried to grab hold of
---------------------------
I don't think Pacquiao fans are too worried actually.
They certainly won't have to worry about Manny getting knocked out against Floyd and if Manny loses on points it certainly won't diminish what he's achieved in boxing.
There seems to be a spate of excuses being made to order for just that eventuality Superb. Look around and you'll see.
I actually think either boxer has a real danger of having their careers diminished depending on how they lose.
I actually think either boxer has a real danger of having their careers diminished depending on how they lose.
-----------------------------------
Maybe but I'm pretty sure Manny will retire after his fight with Floyd. The main reason he's stuck around is to fight Floyd.
The only reason we'll see Pacquiao in a boxing ring after this fight is for a rematch with Floyd.
That's why I think for the neutrals it's better that Pacquiao wins this fight. That way we'll definitely get to see a rematch.
If Floyd wins there will be no rematch and Floyd will simply fight one more fight (probably against Miguel Cotto) and then retire with his undefeated record.
