"Arsenal have massively
underachieved as well but I am not getting into that now."
You'd better get into it and explain how Arsenal have "massively" underachieved.

It's weird, every time you seem on the cusp of regular league success you cóck it up the next season.
Arsenal have just achieved the minimum of what they should, under achieved in terms of trophies but league position they've been par for the course in terms of league finishes.

I am not disputing that we have spent more than you over time.
I am disputing that your squad in the PL this season costs less than our squad in PL this season.
You seem to think it's a lot less too.

Does this help?

"Considering we had 3 different owners and 3 different sets of Managers and having to build a
new squad to suit those
managers you should be
finishing more than one place above us."
That's nonsense. This is Rodger's 3rd season. Wenger won the league and cup double in his first full season. Jose had his best ever season in '04/05 - his first season. Koeman in his first seasom after selling half his starting 11. You have NO excuses.
Its a start, but as those figures are not broken down in any way, it's not exactly irrefutable evidence (not to mention the source).
What does the Mail mean by Squad? Does it mean the 25 players who can be picked for PL games, or does it mean every player the club owns?
Yes and in his 2nd season he nearly won the league and battered an average Arsenal. We have underachieved this season and as si stated in the tilte we are the 5th richest (look at revenue) so finishing 5th is not a huge underachievement.
Arsenal have been in the champions league far more times than us but you will never win it as you are not a winning team anymore. You are happy to finish anywhere in the top 4 and Wenger has lost his winning mentality
brilliant article
100% spot on
couldn't have said it better myself
thanks for writing it
So, if he's finishimg 2nd in his 2nd season, there should be natural progression rather than battling with Spurs and Saints for a Europa spot. Which makes you excuse about 3 managers irrational. You're just filled with excuses.

Except you have alternate sources or your own figures, your dispute seems a bit odd.

Not sure what you are getting at here Sheriff. We have underachieved this season and nobody is denying it.
We are told by you lot on here all the time that we are rubbish and should be challenging for the title. Why do Arsenal never challenge for the title? Why is it one rule for one and not for another??
My article is stating that maybe our expectations are a little too high.
You spend big and you win the premiership. we can't spend big as we are restricted by our revenue.
This was not an article comparing Arsenal and Liverpool as clubs it was for our fans to not over expect.

You spend more money than us so it should be you that are challenging for the title, not us. Your expectations are too low. You under achieve, massively, every season bar the anomaly of last year.
Not as big as the recent winners Tiki. City & Chelsea have won the league and they have spent more over the last 5 years. Is it that hard to understand
Can you not have a debate without becoming a child and getting abusive. No wonder your board is classed as the worst on here.
Stop getting so wound up and feck off if you don't like what I am debating about.
Liverpool aren't really underachieving now but under Rafa, Woy and KD they constantly outspent us on wages and transfer fees but seldom finished above us or achieved more than us since we moved to the Emirates and treated top 4 as a trophy.

Arsenal fans should know about naturally progressing in the top 4 and making the numbers in Europe.
Hence the reason they were all sacked Bats.
To be fair on Rafa he was never going to win with those owners.
Each summer he was given £20-30m to buy 4-6 players to build his own squad. Utd had been buying players for £30m a head for years leading up to that.
He had to take risks on £5-10m players. A lot of those failed.
When he did spend big i.e. Mascherano, Torres, Alonso & Kuyt he did well. He built a team that finished 2nd. That summer he should of been given £40m to spend on 1-2 world class players to add to the team but the owners made him sell players.
Kenny had a 50-50 success. Suarez and Henderson were good buys. Carroll though
Can we all just forget about Woy please
we've spent enough to finish above the non-top4 regulars, but not enough to catch those in the top4
it's not a rocket sconce
"we've spent enough to finish above the non-top4 regulars, but not enough to catch those in the

You've spent more than enough to catch Arsenal. You're kidding yourself.
"Arsenal fans should know about naturally progressing in the top 4
and making the numbers in Europe."
At least, we don't plod around mid-table for half a decade. Or exit the CL group stages twice in a row when we played it.
agree to disagree
all in and considered (wages, squad cost, ownership and managerial upheaval, etc), you should be above us IMO
