I doubt I'll ever watch it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for your input
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You got it
As I indicated I lost all sympathy with the female lead by the end
And Nolan did a good job setting up her desperation and the brutality of the relationship
But they went down a very cliche route with that 'mothers will do anything for their child' speech
And then she legitimately picks her emotional closure over everyone living....only for the operatives to save everything at the death
Dunkirk is a bad movie

That is literally why she kept looking at the flare gun not going off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was she given the timer in any way as well? She wouldhave known they had a few seconds left when she shot him
Nolan could have done a bit better with that final set as well
It looked a little too much like paintball

No, we spent multiple hours discussing it only last week.
I think it is Nolan’s best film by quite some way. consider it near perfect.
You don’t, which is fine.
Life moves on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I disagree
There is no such thing as a perfect film...
Ridiculous statement frankly
Jaws and Raiders of the Lost Ark are Perfect films.
Well, ok, People wore Flares and long sideburns in Jaws, what you gonna dots the 70s?!
oh, and Beloq ate a Fly during a very intense scene with Indiana.
Besides that, Perfect films.

It really depends on what the film sets out to achieve. A film like House of flying daggers for example I thi k is perfect too, because I believe it achieved its end goal.
American Beauty is somewhat ruined by real life ongoings

All so subjective...no film is rated perfect on any ratings system
Isn't Shawshank the highest rated on IMDB at 9.4...and that struggled upon release...partly due to the high standard of films that year
Even if you had a set of criteria upon which you rated a film to achieve perfection, (below) you'd never agree with someone else...so perfection is not achievable

Director
Film company

Agree with the subjectivity part, but it is also that subjectivity that allows the individual to decide for his or herself if something is perfect, or not
