Muslims are vocal about ISIS but I do not see why they need to be.
ISIS are crazed lunatics who think they are muslims. Why should muslims be held to account for the actions of crazed lunatics.
I however advocate that any one who leaves this country to go and fight for ISIS should have their citizenship revoked and if they survive and return be charged with treason
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Muslims shouldn't be held to account for ISIS, but Muslims are the sector of our populace that are being recruited, hence the communities need to reinforce to their members that IS is toxic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you believe they are not doing that? The question I would ask is this, why is their message so appealing that kids living in a civilised country will follow barbarians
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebellion? Brainwashing through religion and misinterpretation of religious text?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the brainwashing is happening a lot on the internet

Your response is just so simplistic and naive.
First, our support for Israel is not responsible for terrorism. How many Palestinians has Israel killed in the past 365 days? Unless Hamas hurled missiles into Israel, Gaza is safe.
2) If the US/UK policies is creating terrorism, then what is the excuse for Boko Haram, Al Shabab, Lakshkar e Taiba, etc?
3) The West has no military bases in these trobled countries.
4) Illiteracy is a major problem among the Arabs. If this is not addressed, they will always be cannon fodder for their masters.
5) Islam should teach love rather than hate. Forginess rather than revenge. Otherwise, this circle of violence will never cease.

Not sure why people keep going on about the Palestinian issue. It's a completely different debate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the thing, on this site in particular, it's always the US/UK's fault because of Palestine.
Even though these issues are thousands of miles away nothing to do with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We made Israel and we fund it along with the states and we throw our full support behind the criminal state every chance we get.
How has it got nothing to do with us?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also gave Palestine their state back from British reign.

People need to start listening to the perpetrators if they want to discover why they are doing it.

If the situation in Israel is what is making things worse, then why is ISIS threatening Hamas?
Why are Muslims living in Israel safer than those living across the border in Lebanon or Syria.
The problem is that people will hold onto anything to justify their intolerance and hatred. And that is tha case with Israel.
I once asked a Muslim friend of mine what his suggestion would be concerning the Palestinian issue. His response was that Israel should give back the entire land and return to Europe.
I then asked him if he will support similar principle for Arabs living in North Africa - afterall, Arabs come from Arabia. The silence was deafening.

Because the speck of time people spend living in a civilised country is meaningless compared to the eternity spent in paradise being promised by IS and their teaching of the quran.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a good point. Maybe better teaching of Islam earlier in life is needed to prevent the mis-teaching...

Like I have said before it's the poor people that suffer. Everytime Hamas sends a rocket into Israel it puts its so-called own people in severe danger due to an inevitable reprisal from Israel that has a right to protect its citizens.
.................
I can never understand why people don't understand this very simple concept.

This is a good article by the way about a Muslim who was radicalised, and then de-radicalised:

Agree 100%

His first three points are demonstrably false and his final two points are selectively applied.
What on earth are you agreeing with?

Mancini - You make some very good points.
Not sure why people keep going on about the Palestinian issue. It's a completely different debate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the thing, on this site in particular, it's always the US/UK's fault because of Palestine.
Even though these issues are thousands of miles away nothing to do with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We made Israel and we fund it along with the states and we throw our full support behind the criminal state every chance we get.
How has it got nothing to do with us?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also gave Palestine their state back from British reign.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Many an occasion Arafat turned down peace proposals and his own people suffered.Backed by terrorist organisations nothing will change there.
I have no support for the Israeli government which has been reactionary and right wing continuing to build settlements. One of the problems in that debate is differentiating between being anti-Israeli politics and being anti-semitic.

Well from the 100 threads we have commented on together VC you should have grasped that attacks would subside once we withdrew from the Middle East and stopped supporting the Saudis and Israelis
....................
There is absolutely no evidence to support that.
Hamas are a prime example of the exact opposite.

Not it isn't, the situation there is what makes things worse.
The attacks against the west have been about the politics in the middle-east with entry of groups point there fingers at the situation in Palestine, our bases in the middle-east and our puppet dictators. Not to mention our wars against our dictators once we got bored of them.
People need to start listening to the perpetrators if they want to discover why they are doing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If the situation in Israel is what is making things worse, then why is ISIS threatening Hamas?
Why are Muslims living in Israel safer than those living across the border in Lebanon or Syria.
The problem is that people will hold onto anything to justify their intolerance and hatred. And that is tha case with Israel.
I once asked a Muslim friend of mine what his suggestion would be concerning the Palestinian issue. His response was that Israel should give back the entire land and return to Europe.
I then asked him if he will support similar principle for Arabs living in North Africa - afterall, Arabs come from Arabia. The silence was deafening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hard to argue with this.

Probably because it's a complete reversal of history and evidence.
The ceasefires are almost without exception broken by Israel, not Hamas.

And the army.
................
Depends what army you are on about. The British army, for instance, encourages it's personnel to be able to think for themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm talking about the British army.
Please refer to ex soldiers like Ben Griffin and joe Glenton who provide plenty of information on the crimes some soldiers commit.
Massive number of rapes against women soldiers within the army as well. More evidence of soldiers thinking for themselves.

spectacularly stupid and profoundly untrue.

Our own governments concede, as well as intelligence agencies etc.., such as MI5, RAND and so on, that our policies greatly increase the risk of radicalisation, which can lead to violent reprisals.

Really? Israel has nothing to gain by breaking the cease fire.
Okay if you love the Palestinians so much, where is your outrage when ISIS liquidated the Yamouk camp near Damascus?
Or are you only outraged when Palestinians are killed by Jews?
