I'd agree King is definitely the most overrated on the list.

All the other players HAVE BEEN GOOD PLAYERS at points in their career- but they were also overrated.

I feel people are attacking my team because they have poor English skills and can't tell the difference between a good player and an overrated player.

Cristiano Ronaldo is overrated if people tell me he's better than Messi- as that's a rating too high for him.

Capiche?

How can all time greats like cafu zidane be overrated you foool. If that is your definition then all players are overrated esp D Beckham
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Labelling Zidane as an "all-time great" is clearly overrating him.

There are dozens of players who have been better than him, if I was compiling a World X1 of All-Time, he'd maybe make the H Team.

Without mentioning his volley in the Champions League final then tell me why Zidane merits such praise?

Not worth reading this article. So i thought i just post. Is this guy for real? Clown

Just keep reading into Premier League hype.

There's a reason Casillas is in the average Portuguese league when he's not even that old in his career. If he was a true legend of the game don't you think he'd be playing in a better league?

Wow this guy is being serious!

Casillas could play in whatever league he likes..he probably chose Porto as they offered the best contract i.e money and portugal is close to Spain. He has been Spain no1 and Real madrid no1 keep for so many years which shows alot of character to be at the top of his game for that length of time..

I could go through each player with a valid reason why they were not so overrated but i wont waste my time. I mean zidane???? You clearly are winding people up

Marcelino

We had this debate a few weeks back and my personal feeling was Zidane is an all time great because he's a big time player and he is the kind of player I watch football for.

Of course others are entitled to a different opinion.

Insulting me is a great way to counter my allegation that people with harsh criticism have poor English.

You obviously know nothing about football its not all goals and assists. The way some players controlled games was immense zidane was one of the best at this. You my friend do not have a clue.

You do not have a chance of playing for any team in the world and choose Porto.

Sorry the English saviour wayne rooney also massively overrated

posted on 7/7/15

People aren't exactly coming up with more overrated players other than the Beckham suggestion, which is nonsensical.

Zola shone at end of his career in a lower standard than he had played in previously

a good but not great player in Serie A and never rose above mediocer at international level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
zola, the zola who had the serie a free kick record before pirlo broke it? this article is poor. the comments following even more so total wum

Brown had lots of problems with his knees. He was also a better defender.

Yes it's impressive he played without training but it doesn't mean he was a great defender, because he'd not be playing like one.

Wondered how long it'd take for the Zidane controlling games myth to pop up.

posted on 7/7/15

If you wanted me to do an eleven full of dreadful overrated players then that's easy.

It takes real football knowledge to point out good players who were ridiculously overrated.

But go on then, follow the herd.

Totti
Del Piero
Baggio
Chiesa
Vieri

All superior to Zola in the 90's

----------------------------------------------------------------------
as strikers certainly, but for touch, skill and footballing ability I reckon only baggio and del piero are up with him. And besides who cares, doesnt mean hes not a great player, zola was leaving defenders on their ass at 35

Darren, your a good poster on this board, but your views on zidane are weird and bizarre. Watch him juggling the ball against brazil in the WC final. Joy to watch. think the sport bible posted it the other week

Darren

But like I said, I don't recall people claiming he was great, just a very good reader of the game.

Brown had knee problems but having no cartilage is another level of knee problems. Hargreaves had a similar problem and the pain was so unbearable he supposedly couldn't even drive a car for 2 days after a game.
