WNM to do the exploit the important thing is not to finalise the deal (square) after each step, check out a video i done but also the quick steps:
1) Purchase the entire supply of 1 ammo type from a trader, DONT press square to conclude the sale!
2) Instead press L2 to jump to your side of the screen, and "sell back" 1 piece of the ammo you are buying, it should be top of the list and seperate from your ammo of the same calibre.
3) Then sell back the rest of the ammo, if everything has gone as planned there should be 1 that doesnt cross to the vendors side.
4) Continue to sell this back to him until the amount he owes you exceeds that of the amount of caps he has NOW square and you should be a richer man!
Heres the video:

I did it but u don't get infinite caps cos once you've accepted the transaction the caps that I have stays the same
The Proof is in the pudding mate.....or in this case the video, it is restricted to the amount of caps the vendor has, you cant get more than he has
Haven't got this game yet as hearing a lot of mixed reviews , I've never played a fallout game is it worth getting ?

Couple of questions and advice then.
1). Have you ever played games like Skyrim, Oblivion, or Dragons Age?
2) If you answered yes to one or all of the games above and enjoyed them buy Fallout, if you have played some of the above but didn't enjoy them prob best not to buy fallout
3) If you have never played any falloutesque type game I would advise you to try out one of the aforementioned games above plus adding Fallout 3 and new Vegas to that list as they will prob cost you appx £5 nowadays and give you a good idea if you like the games or not (Fallout 3 would be my no1 choice here)
I tell you this as Fallout will be a Marmite game, you will love it or hate it, I would save you 50 quid to buy something you enjoy

Well if the vendor has millions then you can take millions, but the exploit on the consoles is related to the amount the vendor has to offer, you could ask for millions but the message would say the vendor doesn't have that amount. PC and console commands on the other hand has free reign over pretty much everything in the game

Diamond City is on my map, but everything looks shut. Is there a specific mission which opens this City up?
Im currently with the minutemen, at the moment, trying to get the castle back (where you fight those big lice things in the courtyard)
"Diamond City is on my map, but everything looks shut. Is there a specific mission which opens this City up?"
Should be able to go there anytime. Did you get into the market (like a circle area with a bar in the middle and shops round the edge) ?
Also should get a cut scene when you arrive at Diamond City with Piper, a journalist
Chris - I haven't got there yet, I have been following the main story.
I may just go and have a wander, its full of raiders and with my Radiation levels, I really am trying to avoid a fight...
I may hunt some purified water and craft some radaway, then go to Diamond city
Yeah if you're close to it you should go there, it's the best place I've found to stock up and sell gear.

Its the first main story mission

If you take the meat from any animals you kill and cook it at the cooking stations, you don't gain radiation when you eat it. It will also increase your health by more.
Tamwolf!!! Excellent - Thanks Mate
Theres a grill at the red rock cafe..I'll start using that
No problem.
You'll be eating Molerat Chunks in no time!
Has anyone encountered the suicide bomber super mutant yet? Fecking nightmare as he chases after you in order to blow himself and you up
I really hate walking through what looks to be an abandoned town, or similar. Low on ammo, and BAM 10+ ghouls come out and try and kill you. I had to go miles out of my way to go around their area
