I'm 26 and I watched bergkamp through his entire Arsenal career.

He was mediocre as feck

What a joker.

posted on 27/5/16

He was.

He got carried by players like ljunberg etc for years.

Then would score the odd special goal and people like you would cream over him.

If you're only 26 that means your were more or less a kid when he retired, much less following is whole Arsenal career.

You were just out of nappies when he signed for us !
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember bergkamp plenty don't worry. I remember our treble season vividly. Being young doesn't skew your memory that much chief.

Bergkamp was an unreal player.

Surprised by Stretty when he's a person that has always been a person that has judged players so much on their technical ability.

You guys must be at the wum.

Bergkamp was a tremendous player (and I'm no Arsenal fan)

He was on a par with Cantona.

Neither of whom made my striker list because while they were both forwards, neither were strikers.

But being young would effect your understanding of how good a striker he was.

Most ten year old kids where i am think that Ronaldo is a better player them Messi and there isn't even a comparison. But most grown ups know that Messi is the better footballer by far.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No they don't.

Most no messi is better. Kids. Adults. Aliens.

Cantona had a similar ratio in his career.

Neither were out and out strikers, why would you say they were both rubbish simply based on goals?

Bergkamp was a striker for Ajax and Netherlands Even his first 4 seasons at Arsenal he played more advanced than he is famed for.

I dont think anyone here has put either of those two players on the list.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I though this who argument was based on someone putting Bergkamp on their list?
