Sorry i'll leave that out. we can get to it on individual points
Ive no idea how I will vote to be honest, but im interested in non-politicians and ordinary voters points of view. I'm from N.Ireland and I wonder how a Brexit would affect us , as well as the UK in general.
The EU needs huge changes, but I would rather Europe stick together in fighting against things like global warming and tax evasion. Leaving the EU would give the crazy loon Boris, even more control if he becomes the PM, which he will because British people are stupid and think he's funny
Bit of a sweeping generalisation there El Toro , I don't find Boris funny in the slightest and I'm not that stupid.
Brennie, give us your thoughts on why we should remain in the EU..
I was just stating that many people who don't follow politics in general, still know Boris because of the media's reputation of him being a quirky funny guy. Bush used this childlike persona to get away with some very extreme views, and Boris seems to be in the same mold.
There's already been threads on it

I know El Toro , was only kidding . I suppose i could fall into that category , i don't know what sort of politician he is or what his policies would be.
And this one..

Well done Redinthehead, i just hit most recent and seen this thread . I wasnt actively searching for a thread on the topic, but ill have a read through them .
It's not really a well done, it's just I've commented on them, extensively! <ashamed>
Nothing to be ashamed of , its a life changing vote
I'll be voting to leave
Why chain yourself to the one trading block that isn't experiencing economic growth?
The trade blocks around the world are thriving and the EU is buckling.
Plus, why on Earth would I want Brussels making decisions without my say so?
No thanks.
Those remain campaign has been pummelled this week and rightly so. They've been left to use the tired old cliches like "looking inward" or "little Englanders"
Ironically, it's to the contrary - leaving the Eu Would allow us to strike up trade deals with the worlds leading markets and open ourselves up to more beneficial immigration from all continents.
Sorry my computer decided to die just as i posted this thread. @alex. To be honest i was expecting some brexiters to come on here and start stating' facts' but none so far. It's easier to discount individual arguments than make a whole one, especially on something so complex. Here's a starter though....
The remain campaign has been based on facts, statistics and informed opinion, whilst the leave campaign has relied on accusing the remainers of 'scaremongering' (extremely hypocritical really considering their use of statistics), making promises they know they can't keep, and relying on people's emotions rather than evidence

>>>> We are experiencing growth. Tory harmful austerity policies is affecting our growth far more than the eu or the eurozone
The trade blocks around the world are thriving and the EU is buckling.
>>>> The EU is a mainly developed economy. It still far outweighs the spending power of other countries. Maybe in 50 years there will be someone to compete in terms of financial power
Plus, why on Earth would I want Brussels making decisions without my say so?
>>>> What do you think European elections are for?
No thanks.
Those remain campaign has been pummelled this week and rightly so. They've been left to use the tired old cliches like "looking inward" or "little Englanders"
>>>> Pummeled by who? The media who are pro brexit and biased as all hell (demonstrably and incontrovertibly). That sky news debate last night was appallingly biased, but then Murdoch wants us to leave the eu as then he would have more influence over the government (as he has stated publicly)
Ironically, it's to the contrary - leaving the Eu Would allow us to strike up trade deals with the worlds leading markets and open ourselves up to more beneficial immigration from all continents.
>>>> It would be ironic if it were true. IF we did strike trade deals they would be worse as the uk doesn't have the level of influence the EU has. We have had other countries such as the US publicly state they have no interest in trade deals too. It also wouldn't affect immigration in any way. We already have more immigrants coming from outside the EU than from within. Unfortunately we need immigrants, and whatever the outcome of the referendum immigration numbers are unlikely to change at all.
It would be ironic if it were true. IF we did strike trade deals they would be worse as the uk doesn't have the level of influence the EU has
------
Absolutely spot on. Trading and a collective gives you more clout in a collective bargaining agreement.
Pray tell what "better" trade deal could we have with the EU that is better than free trade?
Leave campaigners themselves acknowledge there will be tariffs on UK exports that will go to the EU.
Also, the EU contains some of the wealthiest economies on the planet.
Which other countries in the world will be able to afford what Britain produces - note, Britain is not a low cost producer of anything.
Lots of myths peddled about the commonwealth - have a look at the average disposable income per capita of the commonwealth compared to the EU.
Also for people saying they don't want Brussels to make a law that the UK is bound by, what about UN resolutions?
Added to that, not one leave campaigner/ voter has actually been able to totally decry a Brussels sponsored law as being totally bad.
There is one over riding issue that Leave campaigners are focused on, and that's immigration.
A study has concluded that the Uk needs inmigration for the economy to grow!
Vote leave is based upon speculation, and hope! No hard figures to state what would be the net effect at all.

Only in the south!
Not one person in or around merseyside would vote for that khunt
Other than Belarus, there aren't any tariffs on trade from non-EU Iceland in the Northern west of the continent right down to non-EU Turkey in the south east.
Trade happens because consumers want to buy - not because of political union.
Honestly, it seems that some of you haven't done any research on this at all.
The remain campaign has been based on facts, statistics and informed opinion
----
Facts? Statistics?
They're guesses pal - and ones I wouldn't be too confident of.
Afterall, these 'informed' people you speak of also backed us to join the Euro and we all know how that one worked out.
The people you're likely referring to stand to make big money if the common men like yourself fight their battles. They're buzzing on you because you don't get the benefit.

You've tried and failed to make that argument before.
There aren't any tariffs on our trade with the EU at the moment, want to hazard a guess why?
Yes, that's right, we are in the EU.
Vote leave economists have said that our exports will be subject to tariffs if we leave.
We benefit from free trade at the moment, you expect us to have the same trade deal if we leave? Are you deluded?
Note - you cannot get better than free.
In addition to providing for a common external tariff for the products covered, the Customs Union foresees that Turkey is to align to the acquis communautaire in several essential internal market areas, notably with regard to industrial standards
---
Excerpt from Eu trading relationship with Turkey, note the word tariff.
And those arguing about EU being our biggest exports should probably look at the fact that 12 years ago we exported 55% of goods and services to the EU. It's now at 44% and falling.
Why's that ? Because demand is falling due to the slow market.
Honestly, you really haven't looked at the economic forecasts or you'd be undoubtedly voting out.
EU GDP has reduced every decade and there are still people saying we should stay for economic reasons - can you believe it ?
