Our economy won't be in a position where we can turn down the trade we have with EU countries.

Will the EU?

The problem with allowing people to vote is the idiots do it in droves whilst the smarter ones underestimate the idiots and choose not to because they think the ones who do will choose right.

I hate the control of borders argument. It's so fundamentally wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you think it's right that a country has no control over the number of people who enter?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think that's a reality and not a commonly purported lie?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it's a fact, we have zero control over the number of people who enter under freedom of movement rules, which is madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then what do you think all those British officers are doing on the French end of the Euro tunnel?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Admittedly the French officials don't usually give a fack and barely look at my passport when I go over.

The real idiots are this crop of politicians who lied throughout the campaign, because who actually knows enough to decide on something as importnat as this.

Most leave voters did so because they think we'll suddenly stop mass immigration.

Stupidity beyond belief.

They've got the advantage of strength in numbers and being able to trade with one another.

Love him or loathe him, probably the latter for most of you, Nigel Farage has worked tirelessly and devoted the last 25 years of his life for this moment. He deserves it.

They're stopping non EU citizens which has nothing to do with freedom of movement. we have no control on the numbers, simple as that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a bit unfair, you can't label half the voting population idiots cos you don't like the outcome, it was a close run thing, everyone is just going to have to live with it, the campaigns have generally been a disgrace, if they were more informative rather than just a mudslinging contest, the result MAY have been different, but this is modern day politics for you, dirt digging and lies.

Agree. I don't blame the non-voters, really. Let's say I voted Leave (I didn't). I wake up this morning to hear one of the campaign's senior figures retracting one of their promises even while the votes are still being counted. Let's say Remain won: all those people who think Turkey should remain outside the EU might soon have been in for a shock as well.

We rely on honest, clear and impartial information and you could say there has not been enough of it.

Some great banter on Facebook though!

1 Leave (51.9%)
2 Remain (48.1%)
3 Abstained (28%)
4 Arsenal

I don't have time to continue in depth on this as I keep having to go to the bathroom to reply

However, not only does hat prove that there IS A limit on the number of people entering the country, but why do you think our border controls are going to change any time soon?

The idiots are those who didn't vote then complain about the result.

posted on 24/6/16

I don't know, I'd say there are a lot of idiots that have voted on this with no idea of the impact of their actions. They've taken their disillusionment of politics in general and directed it at the wrong place with no idea of the complexities involved.

This will not solve anything that people think it will, it will make it worse in some places but that's it. We will end up payig to access the single market with no say in it. If we don't continue with free movement of people, then two of our strongest economic sectors will decline as we are a migrant nation (as any strong economy is, we are no worse than others in that regard) and the recession when it does hit will be long and painful.

If the EU does break up as a consequence, then the far right movement will only accelerate and it won't be long until we're back into effectively autocracies all over Europe. I don't know where people get this idea any of that is a good thing, do people not remember the Europe of pre-Berlin wall?

This has been a campaign riddled with misrepresentation and lies and it has led to people thinking they have voted for something that simply won't change what they think it will. Non EU migration, concentration of wealth at the top end and so the stagnation of wages, both of those are the fault of our own government. Blaming this mythical organisation in Brussels, of which we have more say than anyone anyway along with Germany and France, is a fallacy and people won't realise until 5 or 10 years down the line there is a reason why every major trading partner and every economist said it was a bad idea.

They've been lumped in the same bracket as our politicians and that has been the most stupid thing people have done - they have disregarded the actual experts and instead put their faith in the likes of Johnson, Farage, Gove and IDS, none of whom who have given any viable alternative and just said "take back control" and people have taken the bait.

We've disregarded every independent economist and put our faith in the empty words of right wing conservatives. It's the equivalent of believing a mechanic can diagnose your illness better than a doctor and that is the idiocy of it all.

As to all those who voted out because of what the Mail, Farage and Britain First told them - I hope you enjoy seeing your mortgage payments/rent increase, the stock markets plummet and jobs put at risk. I hope you are proud of yourselves because right now I'm ashamed of my country
