I get that, but that does not mean the UK government gave them assurances of being in the SM or customs union.

Nissan were on the verge of leaving the UK.

They did a complete u-turn. Given their entire UK operation relies on the SM and customs union why do you think they agreed to stay?

"The stark reality is that we haven't the slightest clue as to what he current situation is."

Hence the conjecture

Then i'll repeat myself. Discussing the plan isn't conjecture, dismissing it and criticising those overseeing the planning is.

Even when the information/plans has proven to be false or misleading?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Really? So you know the plans that half the nation and national media are demanding ?

It's like yesterdays QT Kwasi, the conservative guy who voted to leave would not recognize that Scotland while they voted to remain as part of UK also voted to remain in the EU. He instead put it like scotland voted as part of the UK which is true but they have stated they want to remain in the EU.

UK Business secretary when asked about Government plans:

“Our intention, our negotiating remit, when it comes to the discussions with our European partners is to have a constructive dialogue and look for the common interest here. Our objective would be to ensure we have continued access to the markets in Europe and vice versa without tariffs and bureaucratic impediments, and that is how we will approach those negotiations.”

Maybe I'm missing something here but it's utterly impossible to opt out of the SM and customs union and not be subject to trade tariffs.

Why is "Question Time" always loaded with either left wingers or remainers?

Maybe a BBC thing.

====================

Talking of Question Time and casting votes, it was interesting that the strident activist who was championing Remain admitted that she didn't bother voting in the Referendum.

The audience reaction was telling, particularly apposite at this time of year. Worth watching if you didn't see it

Generations sacrificed themselves for the freedoms we have now & democracy, as we know it, would probably not exist.

Ironic, don't you think??
