It really depends on how this pitch plays for the next 4 days. Saying that, there was some poor shot selection today too.

Our ground fielding was immensely poor today - Ashwin in particular looked like he had webbed feet out there. The catching is becoming a concern now because it was poor in Rajkot too - luckily Cook's two drops weren't costly as he played a poor shot but you cannot afford to do that. Bairstow was also granted another life by Patel which hurt us because at 89-4 on a very good wicket we should have landed the killer blow.

However full credit to the seamers in particular Yadav who I thought was excellent with his lines. The over in which Woakes got bowled he was getting some great speed and drift. Even Jadeja was brilliant with the ball as he tied Stokes and Buttler up well. Jayant also got a key wicket. A gritty bowling performance but the fielding needs work.

I`m predicting Gareth Batty to rip through the Indian batting with a cheeky Michelle (Five for)

Indian fans ruining threads again and put blame on other posters - the pattern continues unfortunately. Come on doc, don't sink to lefty and fact takers level

This test will be done by the end of the 4th day. This pitch is lively, and I can see wickets falling for both teams.

Should be a good test. Key for India is taking the last 2 wickets cheaply. Anything above 350 and England will be in the driving seat.

England all out for 283. Shami with both wickets including a beauty to get rid of Rashid first ball of his spell. A vastly improved bowler.

Vijay and Patel, over to you lads.

Poor score from our boys. We should have got at least 350

I said during the 2nd test that Shami is your most improved bowler. Really impressed by him

What is Vijay doing? Standing outside his crease and allowing Anderson to throw the ball at the stumps. Get in your crease for god sake.

Kumar Dharmesena really is poor even as a third umpire.

Patel given out caught behind by Erasmus but the ball clearly brushed his side. Dharmesena saying no edge you neeed to stay with your onfield decision. What is he doing

Rahanes poor series continues - out to the googly from Rashid. Game in the balance now.

Nair run out! Absolutely brilliant fielding by Buttler, not so brilliant from India.

India having an England'esque collapse here. That was shocking communication from Kohli. Nair backed up far too much as well.

Assuming Rashid's established himself as England's number 1 spinner by the end of this series, who will england select when playing outside Asia ? Rashid, Moeen, or both ?

posted on 27/11/16

Probably both. Should be anyway. Moeen has earned his place as a batsman, particularly with some other batsmen failing.
