Following the petty, childish response to the inauguration attendance figures I had a feeling he was still in campaign Trump mode. Yeah I didn't expect the raft of exec orders, but am not surprised by the content of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Forget Muslims. An executive order banning high fructose corn syrup would probably save 100,000s of lives. Those are the proper risks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Followed by Lightning Strikes and Toddlers with guns.

I think the strangest reaction to results such as brexit and trump winning is that so few try to understand why they won. Rather they would stick to the rhetoric that everyone who disagrees with them is a racist bigot, clearly the majority of voters disagree and it's just gunna happen again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The majority are racists or bigots, just because they don't use the words N*ga or P*ki doesn't mean they aren't showing prejudice towards minorities.
White non Muslims have clearly killed more in massacres in the U.S. compared to brown Muslims yet it's the minority who ares schat upon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think three will be a percentage of bigots but wouldn't say it is a majority. There are some very poor Americans who have been sold a promise of a better life and a great America and not a corporate stooge. On paper it is a compelling campaign.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
These poor Americans had the perfect opportunity to vote for Bernie Sanders. He had an amazing message for those left behind.
They chose Trump and his voters without doubt jumped on his side because of things like the wall and banning Muslims.
You don't vote for a man was such obvious bigoted hate with out agreeing with some of it. Surly?

To the credit to this thread, today at least, there has been none of that.
TBAB was calling me a 'leftie', 'snowflake' and 'hypocrite' earlier. But I've not seen any accusations of those that agree with Trump being called racist etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I disagree, if Muslim in Morocco follow and vote for a guy that says non Muslims are pieces of schit and they must die. His followers aren't following him because they don't have enough jobs or the health system is falling apart.
They are following him because the agree with his xenophobic rants.
Brexiters and Trump voters shouldn't be excused from their obvious xenophobia. They followed a message of division and de humanisation of minorities. Thats why they voted out and for Trump.
I suspect a VERY small minority would have still voted out if the immigration thing wasn't on the table.

I've answered this at length a few pages back, in reply to TBAB C Nesbitt, and can't be rsed to repeat myself. I understand if you don't want to but flick back 3-5 pages and have a read
The most succinct way I can out it is Trump's policy is akin to setting fire to the haystack to find the needle.
I also don't believe it's temporary either. Trump's Chief of Staff came out today and said they are looking to extent the exec action. With CNN proposing a rumour this will extent to ALL foreign nationals having to submit their internet search history and contact details to enter the US. I will say this is only a rumour though.
Right I'm off to listen to 7 nation army
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr C Nesbitt ere.....good choice of music, Happy Feet.
And, in case anyone cares to read back, at no time did I say I was fully behind the latest Trump edit.
Prejudice goes both ways Pearce, kung fu and Happy Feet, and you assume much, but do not know me.
Citing Lebanon as the only place where Christians can live in Muslim lands, after a civil war, BTW, is pretty pathetic.......in the whole world dude, and they had to fight to stay there in the SLA.How many Christians In Palestine.......dodging Hama's islamist bigots?
As for the shia v sunni only wee skirmish lies......this is typical of how islamists try to spin, blame Christians and the west, and why I now doubt if Europe, uk and the free world should open doors to millions of Muslim's.Too much baggage, hate, extremism and religious fundamentalism to live and peace in the free world.

Why would I be respectful of the American President and UK PM?
I respect following the law and not breaking it, that's as far as my obligations go.
The PM and President can go and literally fack each other.
I doubt you would ever respect Corbyn if he was PM, you don't respect him now even though he was democratically elected so why should I respect those politicians?
My point with Bernie is that Americans had the opportunity to vote for somebody who was sane and could have done some good.
Republicans could have easily of signed up to be Democrats and voted for Bernie. The political system in America is facked up because people hold allegiances to particular parties.
It was in the American peoples hands and they chose Trump and you don't vote for Trump without agree with some of his racist bullschit.

have you ever considered that folk may have voted for trump because of their dislike for the other candidate
TBAB
Fairly obvious we (like millions of people around the world) have different political views. Despite (NI in particular) wanting the same thing.
As much as I dislike Trump, and his politics, it's not that surprising he's following though on (some of) his campaign commitments.
But as recent events have demonstrated, there has been little or no thought afforded to the executive order consequences.
Had Trump put a (for the sake of argument) 30 day timeframe on his older, tens of thousands of people could have prepared, or at least made informed decision(s).
Many people arrived in the US, completely unaware of the mechanics of Trump's order. It's created chaos. And without doubt made the situation worse.
Obama deported two million Mexican illegals, and there is a seven hundred mile border wall and fence now...not new.Americans do not want twelve million illegals in the Us, many of whom are white, even Irishπ
I detest white and black Isis killers, so no racism here....converts are usually weirdo loser types from the west, or silly white kids looking for a life, but certain muslims will try to turn any old diot .

-----------------------------------
Obama was a tw@t as well, why does that excuse Trump?
Bluebells you seem to love up every right wing extremist c()nt in politics. Trump and Farage, two of the biggest bastrds in western politics, although Farage is just largely ignored and considered a joke in UK.
Did you just calling Muslims converts weirdos?? You don't see anything wrong or disgusting about that comment?
It's the largest growing religion in the UK and women make up most of those converts.
Maybe you should investigate why people convert instead of formatting a conclusion on a convert that may have joined Daesh.
Is this lady a weirdo?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZQFzHSkXKg
Why wouldn't Muslims want to move to America, it's not a White or Christian nation. It's a multicultural nation, it doesn't belong to anybody any more. The natives have been eradicated by europeans so maybe their dependent should show a little humility and not pretend they own the country.
I considered moving to America in my early twenties but they have a shocking health system.

I think the strangest reaction to results such as brexit and trump winning is that so few try to understand why they won. Rather they would stick to the rhetoric that everyone who disagrees with them is a racist bigot, clearly the majority of voters disagree and it's just gunna happen again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To the credit to this thread, today at least, there has been none of that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brexiters and Trump voters shouldn't be excused from their obvious xenophobia. They followed a message of division and de humanisation of minorities. Thats why they voted out and for Trump.
-------------------------------------
This is absolute rubbish unless you've managed to speak to all the voters and know why they voted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you are telling me people are able to vote for people like Trump without agree even a little bit with his anti Muslim anti Mexican stance? You are in dream land.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes actually i have a lot of american friends as i grew up in Texas and still have family who live there
stereotyping millions of people because of why u think they voted a certain way is just plain pathetic I'm afraid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
if you know them so well how do they reconcile voting for him even though he had a racist message?
Do they agreed with banning Muslims and calling Mexicans rapists and criminals?
Did they agree with his stance on abortion?
Or did they block their ears and only remove their fingers when he talked about Jobs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like brexit they possibly weighed up what they thought was important to them. It's not necessarily right, but many folk in the US have little interest in global politics and non Christian beliefs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what I can reconsile for sure is people stereotyping people because of the way they voted when they don't even know the person as wrong and small minded

These poor Americans had the perfect opportunity to vote for Bernie Sanders. He had an amazing message for those left behind.
They chose Trump and his voters without doubt jumped on his side because of things like the wall and banning Muslims.

That's the point of stopping them for now so a system can be set up

I detest white and black Isis killers, so no racism here....converts are usually weirdo loser types from the west, or silly white kids looking for a life, but certain muslims will try to turn any old diot .

TBAB was calling me a 'leftie', 'snowflake' and 'hypocrite' earlier. But I've not seen any accusations of those that agree with Trump being called racist etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
have you ever considered that folk may have voted for trump because of their dislike for the other candidate

Keeper extremists out entails vetting Muslims ........how could it not? That does not mean, ban Muslims, as you try to spin it.
Why would Muslims like you want to move to America...would you move?
