Read back.
The fact you appear ignorant of christian suffering in Muslim lands speaks volumes.
How many million refugees and immigrants should we take in....not answered yet?
Is vetting potential terrorists a bad plan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When I talk about refugees was I referring to just Muslims? Or those from ME countries being persecuted by extremists?
The world at large has a responsibility to care for those seeking refuge. In the case of the ME Western nations are partly responsible for the crisis taking place and should take responsibility for it. The war in Iraq being the most prominent case in point.
TBAB
Politicians and the media irrespective of left or right are condemning Trump's actions on this. Even his own party are speaking out;
"GOP lawmakers are stepping out against President Trump’s executive order barring many refugees and citizens of certain predominantly Muslim countries from entering the U.S.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) called the order “unacceptable” amid concerns that it would prevent legal permanent residents from entering the U.S., which the administration attempted to clarify on Saturday.
“President Trump and his administration are right to be concerned about national security, but it’s unacceptable when even legal permanent residents are being detained or turned away at airports and ports of entry,” Flake said in a statement.
“Enhancing long term national security requires that we have a clear-eyed view of radical Islamic terrorism without ascribing radical Islamic terrorist views to all Muslims,” Flake added"
The last paragraph is spot on. "Clear eyed view of radical Islamic terrorism without ascribing radical Islamic terrorist views to all Muslims"

Why shouldn't Christians and Muslims live with each other in Muslim and Christian lands? It's fine in Lebanon now, no? Muslims and Christians live in peace in Palestine as well of all places.
It's a good thing you don't want to live in a nation that's ruled by Sharia, because one doesn't exist. All you have to do is pick up a book and read how it was during the Prophets time and how it is now to realise that what you see in places like Saudi Arabia IS NOT SHARIA.
Oh and guess who put the Saudi Royals in charge?? Britain! That's the reason they are never touched or harmed.
If want an example of Christians/Westerners moving to countries with (fake) Sharia then look no further than Dubai. It has so many Europeans and Americans their, Arabs are no the minority.
Oh I forgot to answer another one of your questions bluebells!
Yes America and Britain should take in millions of refugees. These refugees wouldn't exist if we didn't go into the middle-east and Libya.
We broke it, we own it! Anybody who has suffered from our criminal acts in the middle-east should be allowed to settle in Britain and America.
If the citizens don't like it, then they should get up off their arm chairs and make sure another war doesn't happen!

C'mon, even immediately after the prophet died there was the Ridda wars. The Sunni Shia conflict has been going on for centuries. The Persian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Byzantine Empire all have played parts in what is the ME.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Wars between the Shias and Sunnis have been nothing but skirmishes.
These skirmishes have been blown out of proportion in recent history to excuse the fact that the Gulf wars have reignited sectarian violence.
"ohhh they're always fighting each other" Is the old excuse. Well no, no they weren't always fighting each other.
Plenty of Sunnis in Iran plenty of Shias in Syria, nothing much was going on in Syria between these sects until now.
You'll have to go back a very long time to find carnage in the Middle East before WW1.
Today's recent blood bath's are at the hands of the West. You can't draw borders in the middle-east, give these new nations psychopathic dictators and then raped and pillage the Middle-East for the best part of 100 years without taking responsibility.
Imagine the Saudi Royals, drawing new borders in Britain, replacing our government with Saddam Hussein and then bombing the schit out of us every few years and stealing all of our resources.
Would it be our fault that we couldn't get our acts together? You are living in a dream land if you think what's happening in the middle-east is self inflicted.

I've answered this at length a few pages back, in reply to TBAB C Nesbitt, and can't be rsed to repeat myself. I understand if you don't want to but flick back 3-5 pages and have a read
The most succinct way I can out it is Trump's policy is akin to setting fire to the haystack to find the needle.
I also don't believe it's temporary either. Trump's Chief of Staff came out today and said they are looking to extent the exec action. With CNN proposing a rumour this will extent to ALL foreign nationals having to submit their internet search history and contact details to enter the US. I will say this is only a rumour though.
Right I'm off to listen to 7 nation army

Yes, because the middle east was a peaceful Utopia prior to the evil Brits going in...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many wars in the middle-east prior to Britain and France partitioning the land? Answer me that question!
Even Palestine had peace for hundreds of years.

"Times have changed. No more Muslim extremism in the west".
By doing what? Stopping all Muslims heading West? Why not stop Muslim extremism by identifying those involved and stopping them travelling, and not by stopping Muslims on the whole from travelling?
It's like equating all Irish people as being IR4 back in the 70's,80's and 90's.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Identify Terrorists..like what you slate Trump for doing?
I am not saying ban all Muslims....neither is America.
The answer is not just saying, yea, move west, leave Syria, surely.
How many millions would you let in, BTW and why would you stop at one or five million?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Syrian refugees pose no threat to US national security. Yet Trump has signed an executive order banning them indefinitely from entering the US.
Even those who went through the extreme 14 point vetting procedures and subsequently obtained a green card, have been refused entry to the US.
Americans (including war vets) holding dual passports who returned yesterday from trips abroad, also refused entry.
Sir Mo Farrah lives in Orrigan. Due to his dual citizenship he can no longer leave the US to compete in international competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any thoughts on the removal of Christians from Muslim lands, or just USA obsessed, and put cking up the No Farah line from the A nday papers or buzzfeed?
Temp vetting of potential terrorists......or genocide of a faith group.Go on, go for it.
Show me how liberal democrats care about rights of the oppressed....not Just in America.
What has America done to you snowflakes, BTW?
Literally foaming with hate about one bloke, ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your prejudice seems to be driven by the "persecution of Christians by Muslim lands"
Yet Trump's measures are completely at odds with the Christian faith. Two wrongs never make a right. And failing to address persecution, against any group will not heal divisions.
This has nothing to do with left or right politics but basic human values.
To turn a blind eye to Trump's xenophobic rhetoric based on the treatment of Christians, is not a reason to defend it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The persecution of Christians came about with the destabilisation of the middle east by those who call themselves Christians.
Christians live in peace with Muslims in every Muslim country which hasn't been blown up! Lebanon a Muslim majority country with the largest Christian minority has no problem.
When the Americans were blowing up Christians in Iraq nobody cared, Daesh pick up arms after the Americans leave a power vacuum and start killing Christians and then everybody starts to care.
Please tell me where the coverage of Iraqi Christians being slaughtered by American and British bombs was aired?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't disagree. And the Neocons have a lot to answer for. But as I mentioned, the treatment of Christians does not in anyway excuse nor validate the Trump administration's actions. Some of which I see US Court's have deemed to be unlawful.

If Britain can afford to blow billions on random wars then it can afford the refugees and to sort out our NHS.
Please don't tell me that if we decide to invade Iran then Teresa May won't pull 20 billion out of her arshole to fund it.

It's a yes based on the fact that we always find money for war.
You don't find that suspicious?

What you need to realise is that capitalist giverents are in it to make money.
Money to bail the banks out was found, bailing out industry is found.

Digby
