Worth noting that the US Congress has to ratify Trump's decision before anything happens.

-------

People never said this when Obama was in charge, desperation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't follow? US constitutional requirements are the same for Trump as they were for Obama.

Personally, given the size of the US, I don't think bilateral trade agreements with smaller economies are in their interests anyway.

Are his southern plantation owner friends going to have a say?

They certainly aren't conducive to the reduction in the size of the state that he's talked about repeatedly.

They'll need diplomats and diplomatic support, technocrats, lawyers, and economists for a start, then frontline and back office administration for the lifetimes of the deals.

they're still enslaving black people by leaving them on welfare!

Oh, I hope Madonna gets arrested for her comments, if a Muslim said it they would be arrested by now!

They're on welfare because they're too damn lazy to find a job and educate themselves. Sorry if I sound like a pompous assshole but that's reality for a some of them.

Yes but also made easier to stay on it if you're not strict on welfare. Why would I vote against you if you give me welfare?

I understand that black people over there have it hard, you have to work 2 times as hard, but I think there are a lot of people (black and white) that don't want things to really improve for them, they are happy to have things as they are. It's a big industry this "racist" thing. (please note I'm not saying that there isn't racism in the US)

this is terrible news!

what's that got to do with anything? she said she wanted to blow up the white house, she can't just come out with comments like that and get away with it.

If someone of Arab decent said that, would they?

Here's the problem I see with welfare. It's not encouraging people to get jobs as all you really got to do is apply and fall within the criteria of needing help. What the most common practices that I've seen in the south is the incentive to keep producing children (or in some cases, multiple anchor babies). The government then has to pay for each child's needs and it compounds for the more kids you have.

Back to the anchor babies. You have a bunch of illegal immigrants trying to make ends meet here in America. As soon as there's an anchor baby or babies, illegal immigrants are all of sudden eligible for welfare checks.

Now you have too many kids, not enough support bc the money is going all over the place, and these kids don't get any opportunities to succeed in life because of the shoddy situation they have to grow up with. It's a lose lose situation all around.

DAPL is a pipeline that runs across one of the Dakotas all the way through to Illinois somewhere, involving some Native American lands and small towns. Protesters are against the repercussion of leakages and whatever else they could think of.

Keystone is the 1500 mile pipeline that runs from somewhere in Canada to the Texas Gulf Coast, where there are refineries capable of processing these tar sands that the Canadian are drilling out of the grounds. This creates construction jobs for the pipelines, more refinery jobs, logistics, etc jobs in Texas. Everybody wins except for the hippies and Chinese.

posted on 24/1/17

Sorry. Keystone Pipeline is in the 2,000-3,000 mile range, not 1,500. My fault.

posted on 24/1/17

Everybody wins. Except for the environment obviously..

The FERC regulations are pretty strict on the rules for these pipelines. I've dealt with them for months after a minor pipeline gauge issue.

They're building pipelines to transport crude. They're not fracking, they're not polluting (although this can be debatable with the Canadian crude that 's supposedly coming into our Texas Gulf Coast), and it has been proven that pipelines are the least polluting method to transport crude. Railcars produce emissions, trucks produce emissions, and ships produce emissions.

If there's going to be an environmental issue, it's going to be a minor one. The legal costs of anything fecking up is astronomical and companies work day and night to avoid stuff like this.

The point you miss is why bring religion or region into it?
No need...just condemn her for dumb comments...ANY person of ANY religion should be condemned/questioned for such comments......
Luckily she's a celeb and retracted it quickly.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think you've missed the point, read it again
