Bernie Sanders and Corbyn opposed the TPP.....even when poor Donald has a socialist moment, yeez slate him.
Next, you will say his hair is dodgy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Decision was most likely made as Trump's vision for the US is one of protectionism. US manufacturered products, exclusively for the US.
Also signing up to TPP (like NAFTA and CAFTA) would mean the US agreeing to various environmental standards. Which as we now know Trump will no longer recognise the Paris climate agreement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His stance on anthopogenic climate change is a worry. There's already talk from the Conservative party in power here to reduce the targets substantially and some want to do away with it entirely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BBC Newsnight did a piece on it last week. The guy, can't remember his name, now in charge of US government climate control is a lifelong climate change denier. He previously campaigned to shut down the department he's now been put in charge of.
When asked what the US planned to do to tackle climate change, he shrugged his shoulders, and said business comes first. And whilst the US signed the Paris agreement, it was now pretty much an irrelevance.

His cabinet appointments don't leave much to the imagination hahaha.
Just saw that on the news that he's also reinstated the abortion funding ban on any international charity and likely bring it back to US women too. Staggering timing after the millions who marched in concern for women's rights. Hahaha, he doesn't give a sheet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup!
Also when he addressed the CIA yesterday, officials confirmed to CBS News that he brought along a group of cheerleaders to applaud, as the CIA weren't particularly comfortable with him addressing them in front of the world's media

Dude, I have said I don't like him but a few comments up i was saying some of his actions could be good for the US.
By the way, his hair IS dodgy hehe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I say, give his group a chance, respect the decision by millions of Americans, and if he messes up, vote next time for an alternative.

Was/am no fan of Hillary but she would have been much better for the UK's interests (trade).
Under Trump, the UK's chances of a favourable trade deal is nil.

I think there is a chance that he'd be a bit more agreeable with the UK in their post-Brexit endeavours. Some kindred spirits as each country economically breaks away from their neighbours. Could be quite reasonable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The UK currently has a trade surplus with the US, hence desire to renegotiate. However until the UK leaves the EU, and can acquire some trade negotiators, won't be in a position to discuss for a number of years yet. Hopefully when Trump's first term is up!!

On the impact of his leadership on the rest of the world, if Trump moves to back out of the Paris Agreement, I think history might look back on his election as one of *the* critical turning points in all of human history, full stop.

Disagree Pearce.....Obama openly put hreatened to put UK interests at the back of a trade queue, whereas, Trump is pro-brexit and a friend of the uk
Meeting May this week is a positive start, as are his business appointments.
Union leaders said they were happy today after meeting Trump, so should it is not all gloom.
Do we think the Eu or China does not put their Interests first.?
I say, give it a chance.

This was all over the media. But is a complete fallacy. There are no queues in regard to trade agreements. It's not like a supermarket queue.
The US will look out for their own interests. Not the UK's whatever nonsense Trump says.
The UK will have to cede to whatever the US demands. We are retaining EU conformity regulations, to ensure we can still trade with them. Even if the UK trade deal generates double the revenue as present, and the same is replicated elsewhere (India, Australia, Korea etc etc) it won't even come close to the revenue generated from our current EU relationship.
What do you think we can export more of to the US as part of a trade deal??
Zach given the extreme complexity of the global political system you might very well be right. I doubt he will be criticised for inaction that's for sure

Its been a good day for Trump met the leading CEO,s sent them home happy with promises of huge cuts in red tape and tax
Then met union leaders ,told them his plans for infrastructure Energy and trade, his actions were actually described as nothing short of incredible
By a Union Leader!
If Trump doesn't want TTP its because its a lousy deal, nothing to do with shutting down with China or protectionism

TTP incorporated around 40% of the world's economy. And eliminates tarriffs. It wasn't the trade element of the deal Trump didn't agree with but the arbitration scheme, the environmental protections to name two.
Only six out of the 30 chapters dealt with trade.
Worth noting that the US Congress has to ratify Trump's decision before anything happens.
