Away at Crewe in the Crackers cup it used to be a good drinking day out when we went down there in days of old.
I'll send my apologies in advance I will not be returning for it this time.

Golden, tongue in cheek but you never know.

I to would accept finishing above the relegation three but hope that we can do a little better than that. Don't forget we were under embargo for the whole of last season. If we can avoid financial disaster, I back PP to keep the team buoyed up for the fight.

Our first proper signing. Right back mark little on a free transfer from Bristol city. Obvious what market we are competing in this summer.

The good old aging embargo and lack of beans does have it's drawbacks doesn't it. Lawyers and agents will be the only ones getting paid for any of our bargain basement shopping trips. One day you never know we might get a home grown player coming through who we can keep and not look to sell at a reduced sale price it might even allow us a little luxury just once.

"wanderers remain confident they will come out of embargo and are planning their transfers accordingly" Quote from the Beano this morning as Bolton miss out on bersant Celina who decides to go to Ipswich instead.

How many times has similar comments been published in the Beano? It would take quite some time to find those comments and tot them up.

I think we will all be surprised if it happens any time soon.

We need Peanuts on the back page of the Beano to take our minds off all those one liners in football news items every morning I laugh so much it takes until the afternoon before I get to read any other news items.

PHIL Parkinson has asked Wanderers fans to “stay patient” as he battles for this summer’s best bargains.

Bargains is the often repeated key word for today.
Do spare a thought for PP its hard work going through the list of out of contract players and reading all those faxes and emails from agents trying to find a club for their players so be patient like you are asked and concentrate on something useful like finding Chairman Ken's lost investors he can't seem to find them anywhere even though he said it would be easier once we got our promotion.
This championship lark is already tougher than I recall from when were last promoted into it.

The Beano has confirmed what I have already said the embargo limits us to 23 pros. Phil Morris has agreed to sign when he gets back off holiday and that takes us to 19. Proctor is likely to go to Doncaster or Rotherham. Still no news of spearing, ameobi re signing or any moves out for Amos, wilko or Chris Taylor all who will be hard to shift.

Careful Benny it could all change if Ken and Dean don't do as ordered by the one wearing a wig. It's been very quiet on that front since the order was issued no doubt it will go to the wire if it gets sorted but there's still that feeling that all may not go as well as it should in the circumstances.

What I mentioned on the Beano. The clocks ticking and nothing seems to be happening.

posted on 19/6/17

Oh you wrote something on the Beano comments ! You have to remember some of us are busy working away in a different time zone and at times not on the planet so can't always spend the time on a statalite link to read all the comments.

This clock ticking is it a cuckoo clock it would fit very nicely at our club

There may not any news on the embargo but the signing of Morais is a definite positive, Just Spearing to tie up now. and then all we need is two or three decent players who can enhance the team.

The annual Spot The Difference competition during our first match should be an easy one this coming season there's just one Little difference from the end of last season so far

One thing's for sure, we won't get promoted but if we hold our own and stay in the Championship, that will be an achievement.

With Blackburn and Wigan in division one, I would consider that a reasonable target and we may still be under the embargo rules. Ken needs to get his finger out and find that investment.

Not hearing the great escape being sung would be nice just to be on the safe side

So with morais officially signed on a one year contract we have last seasons team together less spearing although the lesser spotted derik could take that position. Need to start adding a bit of quality as back up but hindered by that embargo thing. The 4th window we have been under embargo.

The new one yr contract with an option of another yr if you play a number of games in the first yr is a good idea,
What about no wages for losing a game.
Half wages for drawing a game,
And full wages for winning a game, 🤔

posted on 20/6/17

I foresee a problem if we are seeking to avoid the drop when the number of games are near which trigger another year. What would a Chairman order ? do they play to help the cause or do they not play to avoid triggering another year.
We fell for a similar situation with the Jay money when the order went out he must not play.
Fingers crossed we won't need to worry but there's still the but what if hanging over these type of deals.

Early to bed the fixtures are due at 9am in the morning you will all want to be first to book the hotels and flights for those big away trips. Depending on if we are home or away I'll be getting in early to book airport parking for that all important last game of the season I wouldn't want to have to park the plane at an airport too far away.

1 hour to go is it time to get excited about all those place Benny will be reporting from ? Which fixture will you be looking out for first I know some folk over the hill in Leeds would like see us over there for the first match should I try and sort it for them
