Asking for a friend.

0.0353 oz. Or 1/454th of a pound.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello mate can I have 0.0353 oz of Charlie please?

Was just thinking that dealers won't have a problem with the change

Not sure I do
But I think the first step post 2016 maybe (post 2019 certainly) was people turning away from the Tories... Now that's happening to some extent it's up to labour to win them over
There won't be a progressive alliance and theres all sorts of "far left" trouble makers so won't be easy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Far left
How many lenin-marxism labour members have you met ffs
By your political spectrum every Tory is a facking Natzi

Hey man the inverted commas was supposed.to contract that it's a label rather than a fact

“Neoliberalism is essentially devouring itself at this point, be it 3 years from now or 30 years from now, on its current course it's both economically and politically unsustainable.”
Was going to mention this actually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a testament to Corbyn that Boris has gone slightly left economically (compared to May and Cameron's positions at least, he's still well entrenched on the right)
They realised they weren't going to win this time with austerity, and I imagine that will continue at the next election, the continuing trend of Millenials not migrating to conservatism is going to get worrying for them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunak's first budget was viewed as very progressive (torn up by the pandemic of course) and people have said that mean Corbyn "won the argument".
If you view it that way is it any surprise that Starmer keeps his cards close to his chest with no GE announced?

π¨ | NEW: Boris Johnson is to announce the return of imperial weights and measures, making it legal for market stalls, shops and supermarkets to sell their goods using only Britain’s traditional weighing system post-Brexit
Via @thetimes

Saw this pop up in my FB feed; honestly thought it was an actual joke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every single little measure that can possibly be taken to fack the economy over even more

Yes. Proppa British that avoid du poids system. Too bad about the Frenchy name. Oh my sides.

They were always allowed to do that so long as they also displayed metric
It's another dead cat looking to distract with a binary arguement and it's predicably worked

It's not a change from metric to imperial, it's simply allowing people to sell in imperial if they want. Again I have no problem using both. I use grams for loads of things but would have no idea on visualising how big a 100g steak is for example, I need my steak to be in oz.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and it has never been illegal to sell steaks in ounces, a good way to see this is to go to a restaurant look at a menu and see that it's often 8oz, 16 oz.
So the announcement is pointless and designed to get a certain group of people to go yay and another group to go that's a waste of time.

Titty, are you over 75? Because that's the only people who have any excuse for not knowing the metric system.
Even they have had enough time to work it out
But yeah Boris back in the day hated metric for being "Napoleonic"

Only grams of weed.
3.5g=1/8 oz
7g=1/4 oz
28g=1oz
That's how they sell weed here. Guvmint and underground.
Oh, JS, how do you measure consumption of fuel in cars in the UK. Miles per litre? That just seems weird.
In London they mostly switched to grams for weed anyway
What was called 1/8 was actually 3grams
