Chinese state-owned financial institutions are reportedly “distancing themselves” from the Russian economy.

‘The moves suggest a careful balancing act by Beijing as it seeks to buttress ties with Moscow without openly violating sanctions, which could jeopardise its access to key Western export markets and the US dollar-centric international financial system.’

https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/economy/2022/2/28/as-russias-isolation-grows-china-hints-at-limits-of-friendship

Said it before, will say it again: China gives zero facks about Russia. Strategically and economically it is close to an irrelevance, and if China’s ability to trade with *either* the US or EU is remotely threatened by the nature of its relationship with Russia, it will drop the latter like a napalm potato.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
China govts treatment of Muslims, Christians, democratic dissenters, women and girls, Taiwan, Tibet, Africa and the climate/planet is horrendous.

They have their own concerns, so a you say, do not need a Putin problem too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps a question we can ask is what sources you used to reach the conclusions you did (but now have backed away from?) on the far right influence in Ukraine and the ethnic cleansing/genocide and far right attacks you point to? That might help Rosso insert and others including me understand why you reached the conclusions you reached.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Opportunity still open to you tbbab.

In short; show your working. where do you get your info from? How have you reached and now appeared to change what you previously were saying (which was significantly exaggerating the size and influence of the far right in Ukraine)?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Taken from various news outlets, Google, wiki, and I have not said Ukraine is natzi or Putin was right to invade, but that some are and some sided with natzis against Russia and the west, which goes deep in the Russian mind.

And insanely, some Russians and armed forces there are far right natzi nutters and like their Slav brothers in Ukraine, some are very racist towards people of colour, and this is from mates who were there.

Have you googled azof Battallion etc yet, btw.

What is your impression of such groups involved in this conflict, albeit a minority?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What news outlets? Can you provide links? Presumably they’re in your internet history or you have a vague memory of them that you could share with us?

Yes I googled azof (sic) battalion.

I think the existence of a group of a couple thousand folk who are part of the national guard of a country which separately has an army including reservists of over 1,000,000 is a complete and utter irrelevance and in the context of their involvement in the *invasion of Ukraine by Russia* (couldn’t bring myself to so blandly refer to it as “this conflict” ).

Now the floor is yours. Show us how you got to the position you’re in. Show us the links you’re basing your views on. We’re all waiting

Pre school*

Was it a hotbed of Natzis?!?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s horrendous. The second part isn’t helpful
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither is talking about Putin "Having a point" with regards to "denatzification" propoganda.

Nor repeatedly repeating said propoganda when given the information that disproved it.

So the only part of your prior post I will pick up on this the last paragraph. Everyone here has a burden of proof to back up their claims. You once asked me to evidence how we could have a 6k PA UBI for everyone over 18. It took me 30 minutes to do so, but I did because that was my belief and providing evidence for it is a sane and normal thing to do in discussion.

It's not quite as you paint it, a unique quirk the left require of the right. He makes stupid, dangerous statements, repeating propoganda that's leading to the murder of civilians as if contrarism or "balance" has any place in this discussion.

Then you took his (ridiculous) explanation as true rather than read the last two days pages (far enough).

And yes, mentioned twice because people have been insinuating I've been arguing with himI kind of have to mention him to point out that... I haven't..

And that's my last post on the subject, leave the Russian bots/useful idiots to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So no quotes then. Ok good good

Not being deliberately argumentative with you tbab (for once) but you're trying to rewrite your post history.
Yes you didn't want UK/US boots on the ground (nobody did) but framed it around the futility of NATO, weak Biden, that the Russian speakers in Donbass had the right to protection, Ukranian artillary bombardments of that area, the Ukranian neo narrzis, all Putin talking points.

I think most people are being very deliberate in separating Russians from their leadership and if it is true that we don't hear from ordinary Russians that's probably because it's incredibly risky for them to speak out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Repost and waiting for where the words were twisted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With respect, I will make this last post on the topic..and thank fek I finished a job yesterday as nowt done today, lol.

I preface these replies with saying Stop Putin, in case anything I say is twisted to align me with the maniac.

I do not think NATO is futile, but ex NATO generals said NATO should be in Ukraine and we had let Putin run free in Syria and Crimea and western eyes were taken off Putin's ball, as was spending on NATO and western defences.

I am not anti NATO, unlike some on far left and far right.

I do think the Russian minority in Ukraine have to be heard and considered too in this, but not an excuse to give Putin...and as posted, ethnic Russian, who make up a population of more than Scotland in Ukraine, have anti-Putin feelings too, while being Russian in language, culture etc.

Biden is not a good leader, imo, but has done better than expected recently, even though the Afghanistan debacle and other American foreign policy interventions and failures has sent out weak messages globally. This does not equate to go Putin, exploit that and take Ukraine.

I am NOT going back down the rabbit hole of the stiff right arm brigade, as Stated before and last night, because it has been done to death and could be used by bots and Putin for denatzification propaganda, so I am not going there anymore.

Stand with Ukraine and fek Putin. ...and hopefully peace talks and sensible heads prevail asap.

^ Clarifier:

Neo-Naziism is obviously a serious issue wherever it presents

What I really meant was a *relative* issue of particular concern.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As you say, Germany, France, UK, Austria, America, Russia, Sweden, Italy, Netherlands etc have far right elements and larger votes for far right groups.

My point is far right Azof Battallion etc being at the centre of violence in this conflict, so that makes them relevant, and even that being so, is no excuse for Putin to invade or label Ukraine natzi.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you have to mention it on practically every post.
Oh and were only going back to 2014? Convenient.
2004 Yuschenko was poisoned while running for president of Ukraine.
You and Peks may think you're posting for balance, but it really doesn't come across that way.
Damning the Ukrainians with faint praise is what you are doing and Peks is posting actual Russian propergander.

Was the Russian boss a Putin man or supportive of his invasion?

Are all Russians bad now?

This is also why I post, because now all Russians are being lumped in with Putin, when many or not, but guilty by association, which is dangerous.

Bandwagons are easy to jump on.

Can you provide proof the Russian deserved this, Rosso?

It's funny I'm being lumped in re: clashes with TBAB etc.

I filtered the contrarian russian apologist 3 days ago, and have only mentioned him twice in that time.. both today.

Tries too hard to be a contrarian instead of having an opinion, and needs to have things explained to him repeatedly before he will listen.

That alone suggests he's highly receptive to misinformation campaigns (throw enough mud etc) as it's repetition that gets through to him.

I will generally not mind reading his posts, but on this subject, him and peks have been making pretty disgusting posts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You filtered him but only mentioned him twice ๐Ÿ˜‚

What has he said that is “disgusting”, do not paraphrase or straw man, use exact quotes. You have a tendency to add or remove parts of what people have said that completely change the meaning of their posts. You & Rosso both did the same a week or so ago and you did the same to me also.

Perhaps the direct quotes won’t be “disgusting”? Perhaps they will, we’ll find out.

Robb said something the other day and NPE replied questioning why Robb hadn’t called it ‘horrifying or scary etc’ (I am paraphrasing) and Robb replied ‘it goes without saying’; I agree with Robb in this regard.

I don’t think it’s a problem to discuss the possible motivations that Putin has. Kyiv for example has a strong cultural link for Russians (I’m no expert) I believe religion comes into it and it was a much bigger city than Moscow used to be.

Clearly Putin is a twisted man who is looking to be remembered in history. During his time the Russian approval rating for Stalin has risen to 70%, which is bonkers.

Anyway, I look forward to reading what TBAB specifically wrote which was disgusting. Peks is another guy and has some strange opinions but each to their own.

Even if TBAB is wrong, you don’t all need to jump on him like a bunch of jackals and labelling him like you have.

I doubt any of you think that TBAB supports Putin by any means so why pile in? It’s quite pathetic to see tbh (not singularly aimed at you Insert) but we saw the same with the Sadiq Khan debate where he was described as crap and that escalated into a complete farce. I was complicit in allowing you all to do it by even entertaining the discussion but that’s something for me to remedy going forward.

Who TF do you think you are to allow or disallow anything posted on here?

It's funny I'm being lumped in re: clashes with TBAB etc.

I filtered the contrarian russian apologist 3 days ago, and have only mentioned him twice in that time.. both today.

Tries too hard to be a contrarian instead of having an opinion, and needs to have things explained to him repeatedly before he will listen.

That alone suggests he's highly receptive to misinformation campaigns (throw enough mud etc) as it's repetition that gets through to him.

I will generally not mind reading his posts, but on this subject, him and peks have been making pretty disgusting posts.

Possibly because you call me a Russian apologist and twist my words, now saying a school was bombed, perhaps because they were natzis, which is standard you point scoring and sick.

You said you thought Russia would not invade, and one reason was western troop deployment and sanctions, on your own echo chamber Current events thread and filtered me after I pointed out your hypocrisy,
And then when Putin invaded, played told you so and attacked other posters, then made it bash a Tory over sanctions.

You filtered me before when I said the remain march did not overturn the leave vote, because you cannot stand people highlighting facts and reality.

Could someone reply to this to let insert read it, cheers๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘
