What is a woman?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just realised that saying that directly after Crouchys last comment leaves me vulnerable to mockery
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m requesting a definition as many people are struggling to define it currently. Even on IWD
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really depends on your angle really. Theres a lot written about ontology and metaphysics. So you have a lot of kinds definitions which can exist.
If we are going by a theory of forms, then it might be some common essence shared by women. Like biological s3x characteristics or gender identity.
Or if we go by by existentialism - then you would hold a view that one is not born a woman, but becomes one. It's up to us to define our existence.
Or you can view it an analytic and logical sense; like with Wittgenstein's family of resemblance. Where there is not really a singular essence, but some similarities which overlap - and the meaning of each comes in relation to particular context and use.
We can apply the same problems to other definitions - like how can one define soup? It can be hot, cold, sweet and savoury. I guess we can say its liquid food - but so is porridge or smoothies - are these kinds of soup?
The point being, philosophically there is not been a lot we can say which is 'established', as meaning. And personally I would defining gender or s3x, is a philosophical issue.

Both yourself and NPE frequently berated NATO for its bear poking, sabre rattling. Not saying you approve of Putin at all, but let's not be revisionist about previous postings re: NATO.
Glad you've changed your mind now though.

Zelensky was calling for calm too, then everything changed.
My main thoughts were no war between anyone and no more UK and USA troops policing the globe.
I have never been hostile to NATO, the west, UK or USA,, unlike others.

Aye okay then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you views on Corbyn and the eleven odd letter signers from Labour?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gies a link to this letter and I'll offer an opinion.
Generally, Ithink he's a progressive with views he's held solidly for his entire decades in parliament.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You lazy fellow...look it up yourself.
Aye, he was Eurosceptic on the EU and friends with terrorists for decades, then empowered antisemitism in Labour and lost to clown bojo, with a massive defeat going back to the war.

You like complaining that no one is engaging on what Corbyns said but you aren't being forthcoming ffs.
I've just checked the front pages of the Guardian + independent and there was nothing... Just the far more relevant tucker Carlson, so I figured if it's going to be anywhere...
The Daily Mail right? nothing, The express? Nothing.
So we had a little bit of whataboutery to deflect from a right winger spreading russian propoganda, with a story about Corbyn that's so irrelevant not even the two publications that hate him the most are running the story on their website...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The stance taken by Corbyn,...And
McDonnell, Abbott, Ali, Burgon etc on NATO and the west regarding Putin and Ukraine is not relevant, as it was days ago.
Ok then, brilliant stuff.
Meanwhile, forensic analysis, filtering, abuse, scores of posts on my posts on the topic🤣🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You realise that you comment on here so people will respond to you when they agree/disagree
If you want to talk about Corbyn then talk about him but don't use it as some weird reactionary point scoring
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m sorry but unless there was pages and pages of people complaining about Corbyn then there’s no excuses for TBAB getting what he got
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What did tbab get other than filtering and people disagreeing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My mental health was brought up when I was not posting here for a few days and I was called various names, bot, fifth columnist, supporter of Putin propaganda, giving excuses to invade etc and generally backstabbed, abused and my posts were distorted, to fit agendas and narratives.
I correctly mentioned far right ultra nationalist elements in Ukraine, among figters and civilians, racist views held there too, as they are in neighbouring russia, but I emphasized Putin was using the natzi angle as an excuse to act like hitler....this was purposely ignored.
Other posters on the forum have highlighted far right elements in Ukraine, among paramilitary units who are still fighting now and were before Putin invaded.
A quick Google search will reveal the far right ultra nationalist element in Ukraine, which although not huge or a an excuse for Putin to invade, should concern all of us, liberal progressives and those of us opposed to extremism.
Again, Putin used denatzify lies as one pretext to invade and this is just his evil tactic to oppress and abuse others.
It was not my intention to provide comfort to Putin by highlighting what is happening in Ukraine and Russia and across eastern, central and western Europe, with regard to the far right....my words were twisted.
Putin is the bad guy in this and I still do not think UK or USA troops or NATO should shoot at Russian tanks or planes.

As I’ve mentioned to other posters, I care what they as individuals think and why. If I cared what GB news is spouting, I would tune into GB news.

I mind the several (dozen) posts about the azov (spelt a variety of different ways so you know that at least it wasn’t a copy-paste job) brigade and repeating the Putin narrative while giving it apparent credence. Took a while but I think tbbab got to the position where he acknowledged that actually the Putin propaganda that he was repeating (whether knowingly that it was Putin propaganda or not) was not accurate and he was merely repeating what Putin was saying. AFAICT all posters here knew what Putin was erroneously claiming, so it was all rather odd. I did ask about the sources that tbbab had used to be coming out with what he was, but I think at that time he adopted an Elsa approach (Let it go) without actually providing the sources he was relying on to come out with what he was. An odd situation all round!

I told you NI mates had first hand experience of racist Ukrainians in Kyiv and a quick book Search, or Google search provides examples of the Azof Battallion and torch lit far right marches by ultra nationalist Ukranians.
No excuse to invade and of course you do admit that was not my intention on highlighting these far right loons, also found in Russia and America, as I stated.....same torch lit type march in America recently with white supremacist chanting the, Jews will not replace us, and called out here quite rightly.

You’ve done an excellent job of not appearing to read what I have written.
What I wrote was not a “nice try” it was a fair and honest summary. SoQ concurred.
There are far right elements in every country. Overplaying it (or indeed repeating and giving credence to the overplaying) wrt Ukraine is not thinking critically.
I do acknowledge that you appeared to take on board and realise that your uncritical repeating of the Putin narrative (knowing it was the Putin narrative or not) was not helpful or advancing any debate.
I don’t think anyone here supported the Corbyn comments? In fact if you would care to cast your mind back a couple of weeks, you’ll recall that I was adamant that the responsibility for this, IMO, is 99% (at least) with Putin.
Hecs “mental health jibe” appeared to be a joke? Do you think he was seriously having a pop at your mental health (which I hope is in a good state)?
I was interested at someone expressing such a strong view on Khan given you don’t live in London, and anything he does has no impact on you. You suggested he was crap in how he had done as mayor and I think, given you don’t live in London and AFAIK have never lived in London while it has had a mayor, that was something interesting to explore. If you don’t want me to take interest in what you post on this thread, do let me know.
And again, the floor is yours. What were your sources for your continued narrative (which you subsequently back away from) around the extent of far right elements in Ukraine? I asked this a couple weeks ago and you didn’t provide.

Both yourself and NPE frequently berated NATO for its bear poking, sabre rattling. Not saying you approve of Putin at all, but let's not be revisionist about previous postings re: NATO.
Glad you've changed your mind now though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zelensky was calling for calm too, then everything changed.
My main thoughts were no war between anyone and no more UK and USA troops policing the globe.
I have never been hostile to NATO, the west, UK or USA,, unlike others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye okay then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you views on Corbyn and the eleven odd letter signers from Labour?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gies a link to this letter and I'll offer an opinion.
Generally, Ithink he's a progressive with views he's held solidly for his entire decades in parliament.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You lazy fellow...look it up yourself.
Aye, he was Eurosceptic on the EU and friends with terrorists for decades, then empowered antisemitism in Labour and lost to clown bojo, with a massive defeat going back to the war.
He's some pup.👍🤣

No excuse to invade and of course you do admit that was not my intention on highlighting these far right loons, also found in Russia and America, as I stated.....same torch lit type march in America recently with white supremacist chanting the, Jews will not replace us, and called out here quite rightly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’ve done an excellent job of not appearing to read what I have written.

Another poster Bb7 mocked my mental health here and other posters accuse me of drink and drug addiction, but no doubt, from a sympathetic basis 👍🤣
It's what socia media, sectarianism, political and personal hatred does, and lets not pretend it is not there, Henry.
People can be nasty and petty, and the fact I have remained on threads with often hostile views to other opinion, is my own stupid fault 👍🤣
