Young Conservatives, is that an oxymoron?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plenty of them and always will be
Thankfully a minority then. If there’s a young Tory they’re mostly probably born with a golden spoon in their mouth.
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has collapsed after he was shot at an event in the city of Nara.
Mr Abe was shot twice, with the second shot hitting him in the back, causing him to fall to the ground. Reports say his attacker has since been arrested.
Ex-Tokyo governor Yoichi Masuzoe said in a tweet that the 67-year-old Mr Abe was in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest.
The term is often used before a death is officially confirmed in Japan.
"Former prime minister Abe was shot at around 11:30 local time (02:30 GMT) in Nara. One man, believed to be the shooter, has been taken into custody. The condition of former prime minister Abe is currently unknown," chief cabinet secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters.
"Whatever the reason, such a barbaric act can never be tolerated, and we strongly condemn it."

Disgraceful but unsurprising, federal Fackin prison should of been made to be in general pop. If that was a regular Joe they wouldn’t get protected like that, and if anything it’s even worse than a regular Joe doing it as he was in a position of authority. Make an example and others might stop feeling arrogant enough that even if they get convicted they’ll just get to lap it up in an easy prison

Would love for Libs to get 30+ MPs and have a little bit of political sway again.
Really don't want us to become a fully 2 party state like the US.

Same but the problem is (especially with most of these polls) is most of these Lib Dem selectors/indicators are disiillusioned or peed off Tory voters who are saying yeh I’m voting Lib Dem next election but then when it comes to the crunch they’ll just switch back to Tory
I think Lib Dems really need to get themselves out there more as well, I don’t even know who the leader is, is it still Ed Balls or Jo Swindon?

Even the Prime Minister who delivered Brexit, smashed London's Red Wall, consigned Marxist Jeremy Corbyn to the political scrapheap, led us out of devastating lockdowns faster than any other western leader and was the most important ally to Ukraine in a bid to stop a European war could not survive the relentless attacks from the mainstream broadcast media, political establishment and remoaner blob. I don't think any politician could have sustained such a campaign - and that provides a chilling warning about the new political era Britain now finds itself.

Wallpapergate: Leaked £200,000 invoice reveals Boris Johnson’s No 11 flat renovation included £7,000 rug and £3,675 trolley.
The leak from the Cabinet Office will reopen the long running controversy over the Johnsons’ luxury refurbishment of their official flat over 11 Downing Street.
The £208,104 estimate was sent in early 2020 to the Cabinet Office, which has a £30,000 annual budget to renovate the PM’s official Downing St flat, in the early stages of the work.
In fact the rest of the cost was secretly funded by Lord Brownlow and the Tory Party until the scandal was uncovered when Mr Johnson was told to pay it from his own funds.

I'm a firm believer that MPs should set their own benefits through policy..
I.e. social housing tenants get £200 of b+q vouchers to redecorate their homes, so that will do for any new PM, let them paint their own home like millions of their subjects..
Meal/food allowances should also be capped at 30p per meal, a lack of cooking skills isn't our fault.
