I love to know how much Israel has spent on 'diplomacy' in the past month.

So what do you think they should do in response mate?

If it were me in charge, I’d just send 1000s of troops, or however many it takes, into the tunnels on foot and deal with them that way.

They’re not carpet bombing by any means but there was always going to be a huge loss of innocent life with their response, we all knew that on October 7.

But Hamas cannot get a free pass by hiding behind civilians either.

We could start with the Palestinian territory that has been illegally occupied by Israel since 1967. So that's encompassing the Gaza Strip and West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Not shoot the child. But then it depends on what your over-riding objective is. If it is safety for Israel, I struggle to understand how shooting a child helps that. You create martyrs, you create more people who will want to kill you in return. Bloody Sunday was the single largest recruiting tool for the PIRA.

Israel is meant to have the most advanced spy network and intelligence operation in the world. That’s what you use. Genuinely targeted. They’re bombing hospitals and refugee camps, if that doesn’t meet the criteria of indiscriminate bombing I don’t know what is. And given the volume of bombs that have been dropped on Gaza, carpet bombing isn’t a hugely unreasonable descriptor of what is happening to me.

Now if like me you think the objectives are a) revenge and b) nakba mark 2, then the decisions being taken by Israel make sense.

They would never admit revenge is part of their agenda IMO.

Furthermore, looking at Israel's moves over the decades, what do you think is their ultimate aim or end game? To live peacefully with Palestinians? To give them their own state? Or to cleanse the area of Palestinians? Or any other?

Mate if they wanted to obliterate the entire area they could do it in one day.

So surgical strikes or strike team?

Israel has reduced Gaza city to Stalingrad like ruin with it's mountains of rubble and hiding places, so are now sending in ground troops to fight a technologically less equipped enemy in a terrain that suits them...genius.
