Today is the anniversary of Brexit and we’re on the cusp of the Tories being completely wiped out. Coincidence??

The graph is for 18-24 year olds.

Reform UK has performed very poorly with young people throughout it's existence and is still performing poorly and have had a greater percentage in the past than they do now on a number of occasions.

The media will not put issues like this into context for the people. They don't want to mess up a hot story that people are consuming all over the country, which will in turn bump Reform and a vicious cycle will be established, with the media actually inadvertently and unintentionally fueling the growth of Reform. For some reason, Reform has taken over the internet, outperforming Labour and Tories combined in some figures. Reminds me of Brexit times.

Guess who's back? Back again. The troll farms are back. Tell a friend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh for sure. On TikTok on any right wing video the comments are all ‘vote reform’ and on Twitter magically all the random poooorn is gone from the pages and it’s now reform posts. Certainly Russian troll farms working overtime. No doubt Farage was told to say that Putin was pushed into invading Ukraine to make it more of a ‘legit’ talking point in the west away from the dusty conspiracy sites.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What made him change his mind to run quite suddenly? I don't believe Trump's guilty verdict made him come over all patriotic. Also Reform are classified as a business and not a political party. Do they avoid scrutiny about where campaign contributions come from or avoid declaring them like Labour or the Tories et al?

Donations under £500 don’t have to be declared.

I assume the Kremlin has hundreds of bank accounts and pumps money in via endless donations of random values up to £499.99.

A friend of mine loves his horse racing and has certain connections within the industry. Every so often he gets a hot tip from the bloke who feeds the horses at a certain yard and he usually cleans up.

Nobody gets outraged about it, infact we've all made a bob or two out of it when he's shared the information.

Is this any different from a few Tories using their insider knowledge to rinse the bookies and should folk really care?

What a righteous load of claptrap, if it wasn't another opportunity to bash the Tories most folk would enjoy seeing the bookies take a kicking.

Huge difference, there's no such thing as a dead cert in horse racing wheras knowing the exact date of an event is the same as insider trading.

Insider Trading carries a jail sentence, so should this as it's basically fraud.

posted on 23/6/24

Insider dealing is a criminal offence punishable, on conviction, by a fine and / or up to 7 years' imprisonment at the time of the offending. For offences committed on or after 1 November 2021, the maximum sentence is up to 10 years' imprisonment.

Yeah course it is. Everyone's picking on the Tories again. After everything they've done, in dragging politics into the gutter with the fraud, backhanders, lies, parties during lockdown, bullying, sexual harassment, more lies and now this.

In your eyes it's the Tories being unfairly maligned

Morning Fields, the Tories have made many bad calls in recent years and they will be punished for them on GE day.

However this is a nothing story with a few individuals seeing an opportunity to make a bit of extra cash and grabbing it. The faux outrage in the media is ridiculous.

There's genuine outrage from a lot of people over this.

If it was a cleaner who had overheard a bit of gossip and placed a bet I don't think people would have been too bothered.

It wasn't though, it was well paid individuals close to the PM just trying to make even more easy money.

Pure greed, nothing else.

Pawl

Morning

'Made many bad calls' is the understatement of the decade. We're not talking political misteps that can be excused with a laugh and a joke.

Billions of your taxpayer money 'lost' to covid loans to mates/mates of mates. A criminal offence not a bad call
Sexual harrasment and bullying isn't what I'd call a 'bad call', it's also a criminal offence.
Partying during the lockdown they enforced on us, another criminal offence.
Insider trading......can you see where going with this. .

Cool, they deservedly lose the next election but will go on to make a fortune either as a once a month boardmember or on the after dinner speaking circuit. Seems like fair punishment.

So nobody who is wealthy should be placing bets?

It's usually the richer folk within a society who have the connections that get them the "sure thing" information.

As I've already said if it was anybody other than the Tories most people would say nothing to see here.

It's Insider Dealing, therefore it's fraud.

I'm pretty sure there would have been more anger if it was people associated with the Labour Party, this sort of behaviour is more or less expected from the Torys after the PPE contracts and a myriad of other scandals.

Find it funny how critical of Starmer Pawl is over micro things yet is trying to play down making fraudulent bets based on inside info.

Any chance of you applying the same standards to the Tories that you do Starmer and Labour?

Many bets will be laid as a result of insider information.

For example, if an individual has a connection to a certain football club they may well get early information about a managers sacking/appointment if they don't want to get their hands dirty then stick the bet on through the missis account and clean up.

This will not be a rare thing.

What was far more worrying for me (recent day stories) was Starmer and his wife rocking up at the TS gig.

Fair enough if he’d taken his children but no it was just another desperate attempt to prove that a man in his 60's is down with the kids.

Where was the media condemnation of this?
