Burnham also said;
"“I have now had the opportunity to look at the full footage and the events leading up to it. Let me be really clear: Firstly I would say it’s a fast-moving and complicated situation in a challenging location. It’s not clear either way, I would say, and there are issues for both sides.”
The mayor added: “That said, it’s right the officer has been suspended. The question is where do we go from here"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Embarrassing statement. Nobody really doubts that there is a side to this story that person needed to be apprehended and arrested. People just do not believe officers ought to have the power of retribution.

I don't think it was a race thing, it was an out of control, over entitled, angry cop abusing his position, thi king he could get away without and his colleagues proved him right, they did nothing.
Polis logic...No camera phone no issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what the colleagues could have done really, it happened so fast and without warning. You can see one of the female officers being visibly shocked by it in the video though.

Just playing Devils advocate here but…
Is it not just simply a case of ‘Public servants are not allowed to kick incapacitated citizens in the head and then stamp on them’… and that’s about it.
It really is no more complicated than that, surely?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or, ‘Nobody, under any circumstances and without exception, is ever allowed to kick an incapacitated citizen in the head and then stamp on them’.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha, I mean they’re not if course, and you’re right, but I feel the Police should be held to a higher standard than Joe Bloggs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100% they should
This is one of those cases in which in assessing the specific act in question, the context is completely irrelevant really.
The bloke has to go down for a long stretch.
“Wait for the context!”
What possible context could justify that action? You couldn’t construct one if you tried.

I think the police will have an aversion to being filmed anyway. It is a difficult job to do and films can always be taken out of context. The phone thing might be unrelated to kick and just be a heat of the moment 'stop filming' type thing.
It's an odd one as the filming does allow extra evidence in these cases, but there are also negatives to people getting out their phones every time there is a police call out.

The UK has the most CCTV by far than other nations, police wear body worn cameras for evidential purposes and are quick to appeal for dash cam, ring door bell or mobile footage of incidents.
They can't then get narky when footage shows them in bad light.

Why is this even a debate?
You just can’t go around kicking and stamping on peoples head. I mean you can, but you’ll get sacked and charged with assault.
The knee to the liver isn’t too clever either, can easily rupture it.
Like it or not, public servants, and especially the Police, have to be held to a higher standard, and this falls woefully short of it.

Aye and they pinned them to the floor and tasered them, I don’t understand why his head needed to be stamped on twice after it was practically impossible for them to react back
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably a reaction to the attack on the lady policeman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right, so he’s let his emotions run which means he needs to be sacked and tried for attempted murder. A policeman doesn’t decide if someone deserves to die if an active threat has been disarmed.

The UK does have those things, but an individual filming on their phone can create a viral video with a situation completely out of context or edited to suit their narrative. That is not likely to happen with bodycams and CCTV.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You also see other officers trying to stop the person filming when the camera faces a wall for a few seconds. It looks like there were a few coppers there which makes me think what threat was the lad on the ground with a knee on his back surrounded by coppers?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the police will have an aversion to being filmed anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The UK has the most CCTV by far than other nations, police wear body worn cameras for evidential purposes and are quick to appeal for dash cam, ring door bell or mobile footage of incidents.
They can't then get narky when footage shows them in bad light.

“Wait for the context!”
What possible context could justify that action? You couldn’t construct one if you tried.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I could but let's stick to facts
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go on then, let’s have it

Why is this even a debate?
You just can’t go around kicking and stamping on peoples head. I mean you can, but you’ll get sacked and charged with assault.
The knee to the liver isn’t too clever either, can easily rupture it.
Like it or not, public servants, and especially the Police, have to be held to a higher standard, and this falls woefully short of it.
That’s it.

Burnham has said that he has seen the full video, most of which isn't in the public domain and people should be careful about jumping to conclusions.
That's more or less what I've said from the start - Something very drastic must have happened to draw such a violent reaction from that copper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Burnham agrees with the officer being suspended. You disagree with this

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shouldn't hit a woman then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So criminals can be head kicked and stomped on by police because they committed a crime? You're a fecking genius Boris.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry snowflake but these things happen in the real world."
Not specific but you've tried to justify this in various ways 'If a female colleague of mine was assaulted' etc.
You've cast doubt on the solicitor representing the family. You've prattled on about waiting for context then speculated about events before the kick.
Did you see this video of events before

The UK does have those things, but an individual filming on their phone can create a viral video with a situation completely out of context or edited to suit their narrative. That is not likely to happen with bodycams and CCTV.

The kings speech is effectively putting the manifesto in action
If they didn't support the manifesto they shouldn't have stood as labour candidates
Performance art is derogatory but it was still a futile statement from them and Sultana was particularly petulant given we all know Labour will lift the cap in the autumn budget
