Do you know this copper or are related to him in some way? Literally everyone has condemned it with the exceptions of Lee Anderson and yourself? It's the only reason I can think of why you've gone balls deep in defending it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've no idea who it is but Andy Burnham's view on the situation is totally in line with the comments I've made on the subject.

I agree with Burnham but Lee Anderson has described him as a 'buffoon', so work that one out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Andy Burnham has told everyone to wait until the facts to come out while making wild assumptions himself then going on to play internet doctor on cysts?

Irresponsible for a mayor.

Of course you wouldn't agree with Burnham.

Mr Yakoob said the medical condition of the man who was kicked, who he named as Fahir Amaaz, had worsened overnight and "a CT scan has revealed there is a cyst on his brain".

So this officer is gonna be tried for GBH then? What if this bloke dies?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*assist
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*asscyst
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A brain (ass)cyst usually takes years to develop, this guy got one in less than 36 hours according to his lawyer, Saul Goodman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not what the lawyer said. Learn to read you fecking genius. Wow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I listened to the whole statement, why bring it up if he wasn't trying to associate it it with the incident?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because cops should be careful who they stomp on the head. Some people have underlying problems that may be exacerbated by a stomp to the head. Fecking genius.

Think we all know why. If it was his family member getting stomped in the head like that he wouldn't be OK with it. It's a lack of sufficient empathy and sympathy in certain specific situations.

Burnham has said that he has seen the full video, most of which isn't in the public domain and people should be careful about jumping to conclusions.

That's more or less what I've said from the start - Something very drastic must have happened to draw such a violent reaction from that copper.

posted on 26/7/24

Of course something drastic happened. That's why we have cops, because drastic stuff happens. There's no justification for this kind of behaviour. If there is then society is facked because law enforcement simply cannot be allowed to take out revenge like that. Regular folk are arrested and charged for taking the law into their own hands no matter how justified.

The standard must be even higher for law enforcement as that's what their job actually entails. It's a profession where injury or even death can occur in the line of duty and even if that happens de-escalation remains the priority. You're not allowed to lose it and go berserk on people. That's against the law.

I totally agree with you on that.

I'm not condoning what that cop did, I just want to learn about the events that made him feel he was justified to do it.

The police need to release the full video asap because this situation is escalating and local opinion is becoming totally polarized, mainly on the grounds of race which is a very dangerous scenario.

posted on 26/7/24

I am curious to see the full video but this doesn't look like one of those situations where it will make much of a difference in regards to conclusions made. We've already heard that a policewoman was injured badly, we already know they must have done something really gruesome, but after they are contained and subdued then there can be no justification for what is basically mob justice surely.

Didn't Burnham give the explanation yesterday?
That something happened on a plane with the tazed fellas mum and some other traveller, she told him in arrivals, he found the other traveller and started throwing shapes, polis turn up, they get smashed, armed cops turn up and deploy the tazers and faceboots

Burnham also said;

"“I have now had the opportunity to look at the full footage and the events leading up to it. Let me be really clear: Firstly I would say it’s a fast-moving and complicated situation in a challenging location. It’s not clear either way, I would say, and there are issues for both sides.”

The mayor added: “That said, it’s right the officer has been suspended. The question is where do we go from here"

I don't like that we're going down the racist route with this to be honest. The Guardian were even reporting a former Met officer's opinion that racism is likely involved as though it was fact yesterday.

Could be that yes this copper is a racist and saw his opportunity, but I don't think the media jumping to conclusions like that helps anybody or anything.

I don't doubt there's racist cops out there but feels a bit like another situation where we import America's problem as though they're our own.

Just playing Devils advocate here but…

Is it not just simply a case of ‘Public servants are not allowed to kick incapacitated citizens in the head and then stamp on them’… and that’s about it.

It really is no more complicated than that, surely?

Quite right.

Punish the victim for any crimes that he committed and punish the copper for his crimes.

End of.

Haha, I mean they’re not if course, and you’re right, but I feel the Police should be held to a higher standard than Joe Bloggs.

This case is not dissimilar to the Dalian Atkinson case, he was tasered then kicked in the head and sadly died.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/28/police-officer-cleared-assault-former-footballer-dalian-atkinson

The officer in this case should face criminal charges.

I don't think it was a race thing, it was an out of control, over entitled, angry cop abusing his position, thi king he could get away without and his colleagues proved him right, they did nothing.

Polis logic...No camera phone no issue.
