People are underrating Usyk. Wilder was being outboxed by Ortiz. If Ortiz, can outbox him, Usyk certainly can. I'd back Usyk to beat Wilder.

Usky was a (slowly) walking punchbag in round 9. And in 10 his chin was wide open.

This idea that he's unhittable is a fallacy.

Tbh, I think the whole division is massively over rated and pales compares to past eras.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Usyk was a punching bag in round 9? He was clearly managing his cardio, so he could finish strong, which he did. Look at the amount of movement and footwork Usyk showed throughout that fight, the energy levels were always going to dip at some point. These are HWs not lightweights.

There are 2 scenarios that need to occur for AJs career to be reignited:

1. He has to fight Wilder in america and he has to put him to sleep.
2. Usyk defeats Fury by TKO or a one sided battering.

Or if Fury beats Usyk then Joshua beats Fury. In some ways it would be easier to beat Fury for him than Usyk.

Hit him

I can't.

Why not?

He doesn't stand still.

What do you mean h e doesn't stand still?

He's got an elusive head

Elusive?

Yeah, he keeps moving it.

You've got the most feared punch in world boxing ffs.

Also he moves his foot sideways.

Oh fk this, I'm going to coach basketball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're an idiot and quite clearly have no idea about boxing.

Joshua, didn't loss that fight because of Usky's elusive head movement, he lost it through a lack of boxing in instinct

a) being able to manage a fight hinself as it develops, not just follow instructions and a pre fighg plan, and (mainly) b) not having the killer instinct to follow up a big punch and to finish a guy off.

Wilder has those skills. That's my point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is just hilarious now.

Wilder lacks loads of basic boxing skills. He would struggle to land on Usyk as he swung loosely and wildly in the hope of this elusive KO.

Usyk will school him if they ever fight.

Joshua has been exposed when he doesn't have a carefully handpicked easy opponent. In fact even when he handpicked an obese Mexican he lost once. He is not in the same league as Usyk and Fury.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think you can suggest he's been handpicking easy opponents or anything. Someone like Wilder is guilty of this, not Joshua.

Joshua just happens to be in an era where there are 2 better fighters than him. I think he'd beat the rest though.

Also he's a laughing stock after that Britney Spears breakdown tribute after the fight. He's finished, maybe invite Ruiz for a decider if Ruiz has time.

I thought the same lastnight, but it's easy to look at things on face value. Iv watched the press conference this morning and the bloke is gonna need people that care around him right now. He couldn't even speak due to being so upset. I think this has harmed him mentally and I'd like to think the British (and boxing) public respect this and not make him worse. I'm genuinely worried about his mental wellbeing at the moment.

ANYONE who has the bottle to get in a ring and fight deserves an element of respect IMO.

To get the Fury fight, AJ needs to beat Wilder.

If Fury beats Usyk, he will probably walk away.

As far as the post fight speech goes, I think emotions were clearly running high and it looked to me like AJ was coming to terms with his status at the top of the pack, coming to an end. He realised that the undisputed is gone now and that Usyk is a better fighter than him. This was a man who pushed himself to the limit and still fell short. Anyone who can stay mentally composed after that is a machine.

All this talk of AJ being finished is typical post fight hyperbole.

If AJ fights Wilder in Vegas, I suspect many people will tune in. That's also a fight that doesn't need titles. Someone is going to sleep and you cannot afford to blink.

Let's also give some time and credit to Usyk. The guy was masterful in both fights, with his head movement and footwork and shot selection. Everytime AJ had a good round, Usyk would respond and take back the initiative and even when it got precarious in the 9th, he dug deep and came through the fire. His strong finish showed his heart and showed why he is the rightful champion. All that whilst still having his countries plight on his mind, Usyk has proven himself to be a mecurial boxer and fighter with a considerable amount of mental fortitude.

Yeah I doubt it would ever get that far along the line. I doubt there'd even be an AJ/Wilder fight to begin with. Wilder took a lot of punishment against Fury and is in his late 30's, we don't even know how good he is anymore. There is no guarantee he beats Helenius.

Helenius looked a bit more confident in his last fight. His confidence is up whereas Wilder lost his last 2, so we don't quite know where his head is at. You would think he would win sure but because of where he's at in his career it's a bit more of an unknown.
