Wilder doesn't need boxing skills, he just needs to land once and he almost always does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
......and yet he lost 3 times (that draw was a joke) to Fury, so he clearly does need more than just a big right hand, can't just rely on that
He's not quick, he's not very mobile and he tires badly
The guy ain't a good boxer at all
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People on here seem to talk about Fury as God and Wilder as a total bum, which is odd seeing as the 2 of them had 3 absolute wars.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fury was only at his best condition for one of those fights though, which is the one where he made Wilder look like a bum. He was rusty and fat in the first fight, and in the third there were complications with his baby which I believe made him more unfocused/unprepared.
Wilder still isn't the best but at least we know he's better than Whyte now.

The minute Fury got back up in the 12th of that first fight, Wilder knew the game was up
Fury steamrollered him in the 2nd fight,to the extent his corner tlflung in the towel
In the third fight, Fury had him beat long before it was finished...Wilder was dead on his feet for about 3-4 rounds before he finally succumbed
Wilder isn't a bum...but he is very very poor technically, and relies totally on landing one big shot....Ortiz nearly had him beat twice but Wilder managed to land the big shot on both occasions to get himself out of trouble
Good fighters aren't constantly behind on the scorecards hoping for a KO....that's Wilder in nearly every big fight he's had

----------------------------------------------------------------------
People hate on Wilder, including me, but you can't deny you want to watch his fights because he has that explosive right hand. Him against any of the top guys in the division is an exciting fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't really agree to be honest
He literally just stands there getting battered looking for a gap to land a bomb
The longer his fights go on, the more he holds and fcks about coz he's absolutely shattered...it's really not a great watch that
Usyk was mobile, active, and still bouncing about the ring right up until the end of the 12th last night....he only really took a rest in the 9th wjich was pretty much the only time in the fight when AJ looked decent
I would far rather watch that personally, a good tactical battle with the threat of a big punch landing.......no some guy getting skelped, who's pretty much always behind on points by the mid rounds, is constantly looking to land one big punch flush, and ends up throwing punches all over the place in desperation, looking amateurish
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm interested in both types. People do love a big puncher though and Wilder offers that. His fights may not always live up to the potential of them due to his lack of skills but at least he gave a good account of himself in the last Fury fight and shows that not only does he have a powerful right hand he also doesn't give up easily.
Against Joshua, Joyce, Ruiz, Whyte whoever else near the top, I'd be excited for any of those fights.
I'd love to watch a Wilder vs Whyte fight. Be a great watch I reckon.

All this talk of AJ being finished is typical post fight hyperbole.
If AJ fights Wilder in Vegas, I suspect many people will tune in. That's also a fight that doesn't need titles. Someone is going to sleep and you cannot afford to blink.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It depends what level AJ wants to fight at, he can fight all the journeyman below world level but he won't be making anywhere near the money he did last night. He used to be an exciting fighter where you want to tune in to see a big knockout but he's a boring fighter these days. The post fight stuff yesterday was the most entertaining thing he's done since beating Klitschko.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
AJ can fight whoever he wants, outside of Fury and Usyk.
AJ vs Wilder
AJ vs Whyte 2
AJ vs Ruiz 3
AJ vs Joyce
AJ vs Dubois
All good non title fights.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he's happy to carry on at that level out of love for the sport then credit to him but for a business minded fighter it will take him 5 fights to earn what he was making in one, i'm not sure the incentive is there for him to keep going when he's already reached the pinnacle and has nothing to prove.

AJ is finished in my eyes
If that was everything he had against Usyk last night...there ain't much there anymore
That's also why he broke down greeting in the press conference...he knows losing that fight meant it was over for him at the top table
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think part of what the breaking down was about, was the frustration of knowing that WASNT all that he had, and unlike Usyk, he never emptied. AJ looked to me like he could go another 3 rounds at the end, not a boxer who was out on his feet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He barely threw a punch in the last 3 rounds because he was pretty gassed and didn't have the speed or skills to hit Usyk.
To say he had another 3 rounds in him is laughable considering he was starting to back up into the ropes and try to run the clock down.
You literally have no idea about boxing and have to be trolling.

Yeah AJ was knackered, however, there were multiple times in the fight where he could've done more, but didn't, and a few of those times he wasn't knackered.
Lack of confidence or belief maybe? He definitely is not the same AJ pre Andy Ruiz.
Even AJ's "haymakers" yesterday looked weak, slow and sluggish, not like they used to.
I think going from fighting a few times a year to fighting once a year, and losing a few times along the way, has taken his ferocity away from him.

If Wilder could box and hadnt loaded up on the muscle for the 3rd fight he would have finished fury in the 3rd fight. he had fury massively hurt but due to his poor technical ability he couldnt land clean and often on a very hurt Fury and he spent his gas tank trying to get him out there.
Tysons camp for the 3rd fight was awful however and but that doesnt take away the fact that Wilder could have won that fight

Tbf, I was watching on a stream in Turkiye which was almost one continuous crash, so was very difficult to tell what was going on.
Ruiz fight definitely broke AJ’s invincibility / attacking ness.
Hasn’t been the same since. too hesitant
Rewatched Saturday back earlier, have to say AJ’s actions after the fight are genuinely the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen from a British sportsman
Absolutely pathetic when you break it down. Tantrums and arguments with Loma, fist bumped really hard about 5 of Usyk’s team, grabbed belts from Usyk then threw them out the ring, kicked off and Chisora had to pull him back, stormed out the ring like a 5 year old would, threw his towel, then rambled on for 10-15 mins about crap and kept trying to grab and raise Usyk’s hand, and took his Ukrainian flag for a few minutes
Stole Usyk’s night and limelight and completely embarrassed himself. If that was Fury he’d have been absolutely slated, what does AJ get, he must of had a concussion or it was frustration?
Bollux, the arrogant pr!ck can’t lose with any dignity whatsoever. Always said he was a pr!ck and glad he’s finally exposed himself, even though he already had over the last few years but people just never noticed as much

Oh and AJ’s team are nothing other spineless weak leeches and yes men/ass lickers. Not one of that team sorted him out when he was having his tantrum or being a jerk, was down to Chisora
Actually forgot about the fight as well nearly he started with the old man back stage as well for telling AJ to keep it professional after the hip hip hooray and champ champ rubbish AJ was coming out with
And the disgusting Ukraine comment “I don’t know what’s happening in your country but it’s not nice”, really? Has AJ lived under a rock the last year? Most embarrassing after fight actions I’ve seen since Mayweather and Larry King

I was thinking the same. Pretty likely that if it was Fury, he'd have been facing some kind of disciplinary action for bringing the sport in to disrepute or whatever. AJ just gets away with it scot free.

this
totally agree with that
AJs actions were hugely disrespectful and inappropriate but let's not pretend like they were some horrific acts of crime. Emotions were running high and he clearly lost his head. Boxings a sport unlike any other because these guys are fighting for their lives, so when it ends, it's not always as simple as coming off a football pitch and going back into the changing rooms.

Nothing wrong with that comment. He simply doesn't know the political workings behind what's going on.
am I the only one that doesnt really have a problem with anything AJ said?
I strongly disagree with him taking the moment away from Usyk however thats very poor form.
In terms of his outburst etc. I quite liked it , about time he said what he actually thought instead of hiding behind PC keeping his sponsors happy.
He looked like someone who really struggled to accept giving everything in training camp and knowing he couldnt do no more to beat Usyk but still couldnt. it looked like it proper hurt and I think thats why. In his other losses AJ had a look of , ok let me get the proper camp and sort it out and see what happens. Usyk 2 he learned that nothing he does will help him beat Usyk.
about time we seen an angry AJ.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He could earn a huge payday with the Wilder fight and if he can get some momentum back, I am sure the Saudis will be willing to pay big money for his fights.

People on here seem to talk about Fury as God and Wilder as a total bum, which is odd seeing as the 2 of them had 3 absolute wars.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fury took everything that Wilder had to offer....and never once looked beaten
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Wilder could box and hadnt loaded up on the muscle for the 3rd fight he would have finished fury in the 3rd fight. he had fury massively hurt but due to his poor technical ability he couldnt land clean and often on a very hurt Fury and he spent his gas tank trying to get him out there.

Should be fined really

I was thinking the same. Pretty likely that if it was Fury, he'd have been facing some kind of disciplinary action for bringing the sport in to disrepute or whatever. AJ just gets away with it scot free.
