am I the only one that doesnt really have a problem with anything AJ said?
I strongly disagree with him taking the moment away from Usyk however thats very poor form.
In terms of his outburst etc. I quite liked it , about time he said what he actually thought instead of hiding behind PC keeping his sponsors happy.
He looked like someone who really struggled to accept giving everything in training camp and knowing he couldnt do no more to beat Usyk but still couldnt. it looked like it proper hurt and I think thats why. In his other losses AJ had a look of , ok let me get the proper camp and sort it out and see what happens. Usyk 2 he learned that nothing he does will help him beat Usyk.
about time we seen an angry AJ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbh the whole thing was good watch. Defo about time real AJ came out
It was disrespectful and very cringe in my opinion but I personally wasn't offended or outraged by it. As a boxing fan, I accept that these guys are going into fights with a kill or be killed mentality and that can lead to high emotions after the fight.

and spent the last 45 mins being punched in the head by a 16st specimen of a man
Plenty of other fighters have put everything they had into a fight and came out on the losing side....and didn't act like a spoiled wee brat after it
No sympathy for AJ from me....been proven he's a bit of a fraud in my opinion
The whole fight, he looked proper hyped up, believed in his own ability....even down to the way he was staring at Usyk sitting in his corner and bouncing up out his seat everytime the bell went
Truth is, he's just not that good a boxer, been found out, beaten twice by a man who's far better technically....and in simple terms, didn't like it, couldn't handle it, and lashed out like a child
Was funny more than anything

It can certainly be seen as childish behaviour but it would be naive to ignore the other variables involved.
As for AJ looking "hyped up", all boxers buy into their own ego and ability. That's what separates the champions from the rest.
AJ hasn't been found out. He has simply been beaten by a superior boxer, who will go down as an all time great. There is no shame in that. AJ would still beat most other fighters.
The immediate after the fight stuff was uncomfortable watching and I felt quite shocked by his behavior and abit embarrassed for him. But seeing the press conference afterwards it was clear he wasn't in a good place. He was visibly upset and I hate alot of sympathy for him. Alot of his old fans have turned against him after the BLM speech but I felt he was misquoted and unfairly classed as racist, alot of the time by racists themselves.
He needs good people behind him right now and he needs his loyal fans behind him. I also think people (casuals) need to understand that he wasn't in good place. I think he needs another fight fairly soon to be fair to get his all behind him.

Not aware of that comment?
My understanding is he read out someone else's speech.. He needs to take responsibility if something in there can be perceived as racist, don't get me wrong. But I am not aware of that element of the speech to be fair.
He called heavyweight boxer Eddie Chambers a "disgrace to the superior black race" on Instagram. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said the message came from a fake account, but the false claim was debunked when Chambers proved that it had indeed been sent from Joshua's verified account.
from wiki
he's also apparently shown support for Mugabe in the past too
OK, maybe il just stick to his actions after Saturday then. I have sympathy for him for that.
I think people need to understand that these guys are boxers and not philosophers. When boxers or athletes in general come out and say questionable or controversial things, I tend to not put any value into it. Of course there are exceptions, more so around actual criminal acts.
they are also idolised by millions of people who will take their word as gospel unfortunately

i dont think he made that comment in public was it not something he said to another boxer after they lost a fight? a private comment on twitter or something like that? and that boxer then shared the message?
I think most boxing hardcore fans have a high threshold for what they will be outraged by in the sport. These are guys that are going into a fight, so certain attributes will be incorporated into the athletes.

The boxing media rightly condemned his post fight actions but they understood that the sport and emotion can create moments like that and they have moved on and rightly so. AJ has also come out and apologised, I don't see what more people can ask of him.

its the world we live in now.... idiots out there genuienyl think words do more damage than a punch of a 18st monster. Like I said fans are happy to accept that someone could very well die here for your entertainment, but if one of those people SAY something you dont like .........
I dont really think the boxer himself should be interviewed straight after the fight.... a concussed fighter might have no awareness of control of what they say and as we can see there is millions of fans and media outlets waiting to pounce on anything they say. Their trainers/promotors should be the ones speaking on their behalf. If fighters are gonna be judged on the words and actions they have 2 mins after a fight then they need to be in a stable frame of mind when they do so .... and minutes after being punched in the head by 16 st monster for 40 mins is most certainly NOT the time to judge his actions or words.
