As far as all time greats go, I wouldn't put him amongst guys like Lennox or Ali, simply because his resume isn't good enough.

Agree, he can't hold a candle to Lewis just yet. He did very well beating Wilder twice and taking Wlad's title in Germany (albeit an older Wlad), but outside of that his CV is extremely average. If he beats Usyk then he starts getting in the conversation but at the moment it's clear that Fury doesn't want this fight. To me anyway.

There's buzz around a potential Floyd & KSI vs Manny & Salt Papi tag match at a future misfits event
So weird that a fight like Fury vs Chisora can get made in a heartbeat but for a fight like Fury vs Usyk to happen it suddenly becomes impossible lol.
Fury should have pretended to drag out those negations with Delboy as he's really showing himself up here as being the person who clearly doesn't want this Usyk fight.

Its public knowledge that AJ's team turned down the fight, AJ wanted it his team didnt dont quote me on it but think it was too soon after the Usyk loss (1st one).
the fighters dont duck each other , the promotors do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighters 100% duck each other.
If both AJ and Fury wanted the fight, the fight would happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
they get talked out of it all the time. the fighters dont know what will generate what, tickets sales PPV buys etc, profits to be made.
the promotors look at all that. How many times you heard AJ or many many other boxers say ... I Just fight who they out in front of me. I leave it to such and such to deal with.
fighters dont arrange the fights the promoters/trainers/managers do. the vast majority of boxers dont even know the fights they "ducked".
AJ has full say in who he fights. As does Fury who chose to fight Chisora for a third time. If Fury wants this Usyk fight to happen it will. If the fight doesn't happen it's because Fury didn't want it.
I'll say it again, fighters 100% duck each other. Managers and promoters can have an influence, nobody is denying that but ultimately it comes down to the fighter.
The line "I'll fight whoever my promoter wants" is a generic response. It has no value. It means as much as a fighter saying "this has been the best training camp of my life". It's just words to appease the public.
Of course fighters don't arrange fights, that's what promoters are for. But promoters, managers, trainers all work for the boxer. If AJ says he wants to fight someone, Eddie goes and makes it happen.

He may have more of say now but the vast majorty of his career he would have fought who is put in front of him.
AJ is not so stupid to not take advice from those that know better. He is it in it for the money and those who know better will be advising him based on that.

It's clear that AJ's team didn't want the Usyk rematch immediately but AJ said he wants it, so it happened.
I think you're confusing boxing with MMA.
No boxer is taking a fight without wanting that fight. If Eddie Hearn suggests a fight, AJ can say yes or no.
