I think the Fury vs Usyk fight will happen. There is simply too much money on the table and they would be ruining their relationship with the Saudi's, if they pull out.
I'm more sceptical about the rematch. If Fury wins, I don't see him taking it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree that there won't be a rematch if Fury wins. But I'm still extremely sceptical that this fight goes ahead. There's been so little noise from the Fury camp since the press conference. Same from the Saudis, no announcements or hints of an undercard being announced. It's all very iffy.
All I've heard is that John Fury has been saying that he thinks that Tyson isn't ready for this fight and that Feb is too soon. Very ominous.
The fight is scheduled for Feb 17th, which is still more than 30 days away, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of promotion.
They recently just announced AJ vs Ngannou too, which I suspect they wanted to make public, before doing the promotion for Fury vs Usyk.
I expect the promotions to ramp up in the next few weeks.

4 weeks is very short notice for no undercards to be announced at all however. so dont expect too many big fights on the undercard.
the fact that Tyson has kept quiet recently however tends to hint at him deep in camp doing proper prep work.
Usually if he is half ar$ing it you hear a fair bit from him in the build ups.
There's been talk about Wilder vs Zhang on the undercard but I'll believe it when I see it. At the moment it's just cheap talk. Also why on earth would Wilder get in the ring with Zhang at this stage ? Zhang will tear those skinny limbs off one by one and eat Wilder alive lol.
Actually think that's for the AJ Ngannou fight. The Fury Usyk fight is way too near for that.

Decent fight if that comes off. Yeah you would have to favour Zhang but if Wilder wants to recover his career then beating Zhang would be a major step back into the mix. And let's be honest he could clip Zhang. I think Zhang would be more willing to come forward and engage than Parker did and you've got to think Wilder would be a bit more purposeful in this fight now that his boxing career is on the line.

They announced the big Saudi card in December, 6 weeks before the fights.
With the amount of money available to see the Saudi's, they can make things happen quickly.
They'll have to be double lively as the clock is ticking
Beterbiev vs Callum Smith tonight.
Smith is a decent fighter but the power of Beterbiev will be too much. Let's hope this sets up a Beterbiev vs Bivol unification in 2024.

when are we going to see Beterbiev v Bivol
A fights for the ages
Talksport were massively bigging up Smith's chances last night lol
Thought Smith might have given him more of a fight, like Yarde did, but Artur made it look easy. I still pick Bivol to beat him though.

I've heard that the Saudis are making it happen this year. Not just that but according to this report they want the winner to go up to cruiser to fight Opetaia lol. Honestly these Saudis aren't messing around.
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2024/01/saudi-arabia-eyes-bivol-vs-beterbiev-winner-for-cruiserweight-clash-with-opetaia/
I think we are all aware of the sports washing element of the Saudi's journey so far but as a sports fan, I hope they continue to participate because it's the only way we are going to see the best fight the best.
Yeah I'm loving that we're finally getting these fights and long may it continue. I seriously doubt we'd be getting Undisputed right now if not for Saudi. Fury would have continued to mess around and duck Usyk if not for this. Really exciting times ahead in boxing. Finally.

Shame all the boxers are old as feck
There's still life in these old dogs yet. But these big fights must happen this year. Otherwise it will be too late. Thankfully the Saudis look like they have it all under control.
Big fights I want in 2024:
Fury vs Usyk
AJ vs Fury
Beterbiev vs Bivol
Canelo vs Benavidez
Haney vs Teo
Gervonta vs Shakur
Bud vs Charlo
Charlo vs Plant
Morrell vs Benavidez
Inoue vs Gervonta
Loma vs Shakur
Haney vs Gervonta
Ennis vs Benn
Spence vs Ennis
Charlo vs Tsyzu
Yarde vs Buatsi
Inoue vs Tank would be very interesting if it can happen, maybe one for the future though. Personally I really want to see Tank vs Haney in 2024. Think that needs to happen.
Canelo vs Benavidez has to happen although some of the excuses Canelo keeps coming out with to avoid him are hilarious. He doesn't fight fellow Mexicans now apparently lol.
Spence vs Ennis would be a great fight, hadn't even considered that tbh although I think Spence moves up to 154 and stays there once he recovers from the cataracts eye surgery. Maybe there's a chance that the Bud rematch happens at 154 as well but still not convinced Spence wants any part of it despite activating the rematch clause.
Beterbiev vs Bivol, what a fight that will be and thanks to the Saudis it's going to happen. The winner could move up to cruiser to fight Opetaia if the Saudis have their way apparently. Beterbiev vs Opetai in 2024 as well perhaps? I wouldn't bet against it.
Tank vs Shakur if it can ever get made although seems like Tank is ducking the fight. Similar to Canelo ducking Benavidez. Wonder which will turn into the biggest duck of the year lol.
