To be fair, that's what Batman made in US alone and as you often say, its results were fine rather than great.

It's Batman though, the number 1 or at least number 2 comic book character in the world in terms of popularity.

Of course, I was just reiterating that making $140 million on it's opening weekend is impressive. Especially in this economic climate and that most people don't even know who Black Adam is yet.

This is the word being put out there, and it’s true given everything. My fear for it, is the 2nd week drop off, which going by the mumblings will be about 70%.

And with Black Panther 2 here in a couple weeks, it doesn’t bode well.

Think you're being a bit doom and gloom there Stringer. It's had an impressive opening weekend and user reviews for it are very good in general. Hasn't opened in China yet either. I'd say the signs are very positive so far.

It’s just me gut feeling.. of course I don’t want it to bomb. I want it to win. Just reading between the lines, adding my amateur maths to it. Its the conclusion I’m drawing.

Black Adam was quite decent. Good action. DC did copy a bit of Marvel with some of the characters. I watched it straight after we lost to Notts Forest too so I was in a foul mood for this movie.

Dunno mate, seems you're adding a slightly pessimistic outlook to it rather than actual maths and facts. The maths show it did an impressive opening weekend and word of mouth on the movie is good meaning that there shouldn't be a huge drop.

If anything you might expect a rise in the second week. Also there isn't much to compete with at cinemas right now and as movie goers we've been starved of quality big action special effects bonanzas at the cinema in 2022.

Sure, pessimistic, i’ll go with that. But with good reason. I reckon $300 mil max, in the States.
300 Mill worldwide. DC would take that.
But a rise in the 2nd week? Well that’s being overly optimistic. It’s not making more than 140 Milly next week. That ain’t happening.

Good grief, Black Adam was absolutely pitiful

Bad acting, bad sets and throwing Rolling Stones songs over action scenes doesn’t make it good, it just looks like you’re covering up the shortfalls - just like they did with Suicide Squad.
