how do Tam?

and that's fantastic news, will be nice to see how he fares in the prem
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm good thanks Tino. In the process of buying a house at the moment so always seem to be busy.

How's things?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard £28m for Costa, if that's a true figure then I'd say good business.

and yea I'm all good too, never seem to have a spare minute anymore, you still on the south coast?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah still on the south coast. Going to be down here for the next few years at least now, so figured we were best off buying. I live within a 20 minute walk of the beach though, so not all bad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yea if it's medium to long term then you are better off buying, maybe it's cus we live in the midlands but I'm always jealous of those leaving by the sea

Yeah, I love living down here to be honest; just because of the sea really. I don't think I would move back to the midlands at the moment to be honest. My next move would be dependant on wherever work takes me to be honest. Unless I win the lottery of course.

We sell him for 10m because he was thought to be not good enough, doesn't fit into the style of play at Bournemouth and is a flop in the Premier League and we get him back on loan for half a season. Then pay more than we sold him for and take a gamble on him doing better in the top flight than he did before.

To me, that makes no sense, but I look forward to him proving me wrong. The only plus in all this, is the fact that he'll have better players around him, than he had at Bournemouth, should he start.

But what worries me a little is how we can fit Jota, Cavaleiro and Costa in the side as our main strike force. One of those at least will be on the bench should Afobe start and what happens, should we, as I expect, get a better striker in. 12.5m seems a lot for a back up striker.

Afobe and Boly deals confirmed by Wolverhampton Wanderers. Plus confirmation of Jota being done too. That's a £33m triple signing #wwfc

that's gotta be seen as good business. Boly and Fobe for £10m each and Jota for £13m is a feckin steal

So if you buy that keeper, what's her name, Patricia? You'll be half way through your entire transfer budget surely?

It's a squad game Wolfie, Afobe will be a second option more than anything I would imagine assuming we will add another striker yet anyway which I am certain we will.

On top of that he is British which is helpful.

On a side note I would not be shocked if we sold Costa.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If we signed Afobe and sold Costa I would be fuming.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Would be disappointed to see him leave but its football, there will be ins and outs and one or two we will be sorry to see leave perhaps and i would say Costa would be high up that list and in demand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think unless we are spending money to replace him, selling him would be a backwards step. Afobe is in no way an adequate replacement for any of the three who can play in the wide forward positions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We would spend thats for sure, if someone of Costa's level were to leave the money would certainly go back in.

I forgot about Jota. You're probably half way through your budget before you've bought Patricia!

maybe....but we don't need too much more (depending on how realistic our targets are)

Its funny really that although i was born and raised on the south coast i am much happier in the woods than on a beach.

That said it is always nice to have the option of staring out on the open ocean and most importantly for me you get marshes on the coast

That may realistically be the case. Your manager might think you've already got enough to stay up.

So desperate

I can assure you that the last thing on Wolves mind is 'staying up' as we have far bigger plans.

The next few years are gonna be a lot easier for you if you just accept the situation now rather than get all tied up in knots inside over us fella

No need to be so touchy! Wolves55 says you're 2 years into a 10 year plan so survival is the target this year.

Just quoting one of your fellow dog heads!

So Patricia's a free agent. You do realise that he'll be after a huge signing on fee plus a hefty wage then?!

Oh really?!?! Feck sake, what are we going to do now?!?!

Was so frustrating last season being on a smaller budget and only having the likes of Costa, Boly, cavaleiro, Jota, Neves and Saiss and later on Afobe being in our price range

Sunny what's your problem with Afobe? he did well for us in his first run, we didn't sell him because we didn't think he was good enough, he wanted to play in the prem.

his time at b'mouth who knows, it just didn't work out, he comes back on loan and gets in amongst the goals and in my opinion earns his place in the squad.

we paid £2m and sold him for £10m....we're expected to pay another £12.5m - so effectively £4.5m for a HG striker. not a bad deal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

The issue I have with Adobe is the fact that he left our club (who he states he loves and feels at home here) to play at a higher level. He didn't do well at Bournemouth, hence he had less game time. His goals for us have all been at a lower level than the Premier League and I doubt very much he'll do that well next season.

CInci, I fully realize that it's a squad game, but the point Nuno has made, is that he wants to trim his senior playing squad to 19/20 and make up the others with younger players.

If the loan deals have been done, then we've spent a bunch of money just securing them. How much more will we be able to fork out to get the right players. I dare say another 30-50m will put us close to much of the money we'll get for getting promoted.

Like I stated before, I hope he proves me wrong, but I wouldn't put my mortgage on it.
