We were linked with Alfie Mawson the other day from Swansea. I think he would be a decent signing. Was the one bright light in an otherwise terrible season for Swansea. Still young and improving too.

I think he would fit in well in a back three as he looked good on the ball. Would provide a good threat for Barry’s set pieces too.

I know under the Fosun regime the club regularly wait to see my verdict before going ahead with signings; so this one would have my approval.

we can sign him on a free or we can pay Sporting €18m. Is there a decision to be made there?

a moral one - we could be seen as taking advantage of sportings implosion if we sign patricio for nothing

As a consequence of being attacked by Sporting fans, Patricio has terminated his contract with them so is out of contract, at least that’s what the press are saying. He is not the only one of their players to have done this

but what sort of a contract can you just terminate if you feel like it?

Its a bit of a mystery but the players can probably claim the club didnt protect them from the fans, and i did read somewhere that the club were being accused of blackmailing the players

There is also a story that the players were advised they were in a position to walk away from their contracts - by Mendes!

We don't actually play Feyenord, Wolfgang and the two Swiss teams don't play each other. The format will be:-

10th July Basel v team 2
11th July Young Boys v team 1
13th July Basel v team 1
14th July Young Boys v team 2

Not sure if we're team 1 or 2 yet.
