Gem, I'm sure we'll be getting in one or two strikers over the summer. Just got to be patient until the World Cup winds down. I still say a front three of Costa, Cavaleiro and Jota would scare most defences, with their pace.

Don't know if it has occurred to anyone else but the three clubs that went running to the FA demanding an investigation into the way our transfer dealings were conducted were Leeds, Derby and Villa.
Since then Wolves were exonerated and promoted as champions. Leeds have sacked their manager. Derby have sacked their manager. Villa have been issued with a winding up order.

Don’t think there is any doubt those complaints were designed to take attention away from the shortcomings within those clubs. To be fair I think most supporters of those three clubs saw through that as well

Agree completely.
Speaking of shortcomings, I was amazed when Derby announced that their new manager was to be Fat Frank. A massive gamble for a club with serious promotion ambitions.
I suppose it's good to add some new names to the manager merry-go-round. Lampard, Gerrard, Gracia, Moore, Potter, Stendel and Ross will make a refreshing change from the regular comings and goings of the likes of Pulis, Cotterill, Adkins, Monk, Lambert, Hughes, Moyes, Pardew, etc.

Anyone know the reasoning behind inviting the biggest club in the Netherlands for a pre-season friendly and playing them at a poxy little ground like the Banks's Stadium with a ko time of 2 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon?

As it is a pre season friendly and at neither sides home ground, I think we can take it that this will be for possibly the second strings of both clubs.
