Just saw it, he literally missed a straight one wtf
Jos must have been confused. 15 minutes ago he must have been thinking feet up for the day as Root and Bairstow cash in. All of a sudden he's facing a ball and forgotten to hit it.
England have found some wonderful ways to get out in this innings.
Kohli has managed to do all sorts in the last 20 minutes. Mock Joe Root's mic drop, swear at Joe Root, blow a kiss to the batsman, shush the crowd.
Reminding everyone that he's still an absolute see you next Tuesday.

& it's clearly working...
Curran ahead of Rashid? I know he looks like he's going to be a top batsman as he'd already got 10 first class 50s or something like that at the age of 20 but Rashid has a first class average of 33 with 10 centuries and a whole load of 50s. He's the experienced player and probably what we need among the chaos of that tumble of wickets.
Rashid has 10 centuries?!

No doubt. Wonderful player but I think he pushes it with his actions.
I'd rather have female commentators for every session for the remainder of the tests than have to listen to Harbhajan commentate...this guy is absolutely clueless. You know?

Tbf mate I'm not a big fan of his behaviour either but I think it's got to a point where most of understand he is just like that. It drives him on - similar to Warner or a Stokes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, basically every time people talk about the depth of England's tail in the ODIs, Rashid at 11 with his 10 centuries always gets a mention. However he usually gets put down at 11 because he doesn't come in and twonk it for 4 or 6 from the get go like Plunkett, Willey and Wood et al can do. More of a conventional batsman.

Yeah I agree with that. Should be fascinating to see the responses if they get a chance to send Kohli off. Should make for an entertaining subplot in the series.
Mocking the mic drop is quite funny although Root's mic drop was more aimed at all the critics saying he should be dropped from the team rather than any slight at India.
England just love a collapse don't they...
I said it earlier, their middle order is for limited overs. Haven't got a Cook type player in the middle order, someone who can battle it out.
To be fair, I'm not sure Stokes ever crosses the line on the pitch. He's incredibly competitive and in-your-face, but has he ever had an on-field spat where it wasn't clearly the other guy blatantly provoking him?
Cook
Burns
Hildreth
Root
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
That's the batting lineup we need. No idea what Hildreth and Burns need to do to get a look in.
Sorry, not Ali. Force of habit typing his name, I actually don't rate the guy at all.
I'd be open to bringing Ollie Pope in at #7 to be honest, and letting him build up his career from the lower order. He looks like a Test #4 in the making eventually.
Another one bites a dust, terrible batting
Now another. Absolutely appalling from 216/3 to this.
Overall mentality rather than individuals for me.
Its not the mentality at all. its ability.. England can not bat. You need to look at the amount of collapses in recent years there as been. The dismissal of Stokes "is a stokes dismissal". he will bang the floor in desperation then do it again next time.
Time to move on from Bayliss and get a new coach. Someone who wont accept batting collapses. Seems acceptable these days.
The only 2 batsmen worth their salt is Root and Bairstow. Cook is finished. Malan is a joke. Stokes is over rated. Basically 2 players out of 11 who can bat.

Iv never really understood why some batsmen can't make the adjustment from the ODI or T20 to test cricket. I get there is more patience required and more risk but there is higher reward. Is it the ball?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Patience is one of the key skills really, seeing out a couple of maidens in a test match is okay but some batsmen start to feel pressure as if they're playing an ODI.
The likes of Roy and Hales probably rarely leave a ball or play a forward defensive so to have to come in to a test match situation and think about leaving and defending the majority of deliveries isn't in their thought process. They can also come to the crease in 2 minds, "my natural instinct is to attack but I should be defending" then often get out playing needless wafts at deliveries they should leave.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is spot on...
Bayliss good coach for t20s and ODIs.
They need someone different for test cricket.
