Shoudl be a very interesting day. Jimmy can bat...and anything ver 300 from here would be excellent for England.

Until India Bat , we won;t know if its a good score or not.

Looking forward to seeing how this escalates. Jimmy, Broad, Stokes all like to give a bit of chirp so Kohli vs these guys should be great.

I am looking forward to it. Banter shoudl be good, especially when Kohli comes out. Not issues and think it's good (within Reason) unless your a soft Aussie lad.

Kohli is defo a caant but have to give him credit for the mic drop.

Was Roots Mic drop celebration at Headingley aimed at Kohli? If so, fair enough from Kohli but if not what’s the need??

There's never a need for Kohli to do what he does. He just does it and acts the way he does because it drives him on. I suppose it's his way of trying to purposely fight battles with opposition so he can win them. Fantastic if you're on his team, not so much if you're on the other side of the fence.

I'm guessing they didn't like the celebration but Root's position in the team was being questioned a lot by the media and whether he fits in with all these power hitters.

2 games later and he hit back to back centuries, the second of which he reached by also hitting the winning runs so it was more aimed at the critics saying he shouldn't be in the team.

I think that's why it'll be interesting to see how England react if they get Kohli out.

There was a lot of talk about Rashid before the game, he'll have to deliver now especially because Ashwin got 4fer

No team in the world play leg spin better than India. I can't see Rashid getting much joy other than the tail.

More pressure on him too with fewer runs on the board than England would have liked. They'd have been hoping for something closer to 400 when Bairstow and Root were looking pretty comfortable at 200 odd for 3. Hopefully they trust him to keep going even if he leaks a few runs.

Tbh I think this whole Root celebration saga has been wrongly condemned. I'm no big Root fan and think he's a slightly above average limited overs player but the bloke just hit two centuries to win a series. Let him celebrate however the hell he wants! I think what irked Kohli more was the loss of the ODI series rather than Root's celebration tbh.

I thought that was why Root did it- mainly aimed at media. Interesting Kohli responded that way yesterday, I take the point that’s what he does as motivation but India did all their talking on the pitch yesterday...... personally hoping for jimmy, broad and stokes to get involved now

Agree kash..... gotta feel for the boy. Treated like shhht for years then gets a recall based on 1 ball at Headingley against the best side vs spin. On top of that has been slated by ex captains and players which can’t help his confidence... this series will finish him.

I agree, it's a bit of the modern PC world by people getting easily offended by things. It's sport, it's entertainment so let them get on with it. It adds another layer of intrigue to this contest and will give us more moments to remember. I don't remember much from the England vs West Indies series but the little battle between Stokes and Samuels was memorable.

This.

Just banter on the pitch being micro-analised and blown all out of proportion.
