He wasn’t responsible in my opinion.
De Bruyne spent like 4 months at Chelsea under Mourinho before he furrrked off. That’s not Mourinho’s fault. As a young player it is your duty to prove yourself to your manager and he couldn’t be bothered to prove himself out of arrogance probably.
Lukaku, Mourinho wanted to keep. However Lukaku wanted to be our first choice striker, no questions asked and we weren’t willing to give him that role considering he still wasn’t fully proven at that point. Nothing Mourinho could have done there, the player wanted too much too soon (just like de Bruyne huh?)
Salah was terrible at Chelsea. He was like Claudio Pizarro useless. And before you ask who that is, exactly.
Matic? Wtf? mourinho was the one who brought him back to Chelsea and then bought him again for united. Ancelotti and conte were the two managers who sold matic.

He made a judgement call to have Costa instead, and he can be forgiven for that as well, IMO.
Not only did Costa play a huge role in us winning two PL's, at the time everyone assumed (I'm guessing including Jose himself) that he was gunna stay with us for a long time and Costa did seem like the perfect Mourinho striker - he's basically Jose as a player when you think about it
And hindsight has favored Mourinho here too. If we wanted Lukaku badly enough he'd be a Chelsea player today, but Jose's United wanted him more and we have Morata instead
