Arsenal have been non-existent for the last 14 years so yeah we're the top dogs in London and have been for a while.

But Arsenal seem to be back on the rise as they've finally got rid off Wenger.

Yeah I'd go with that. Chelsea biggest in London now. Just like Everton are bigger than Liverpool now.

"non-existent", in that case Chelsea were non existent for the first 100 years of their history. Don't think they've caught up yet.

We've surpassed in you 10 years as you've been a laughing stock for so long

In terms of heritage and honours then Arsenal are miles ahead of the others for me.

Chelsea are bigger in more modern times based on trophies, say the last decade or so I guess ........ but as a club always come across as a bit more tacky and a club followed by glory hunters.

Both have been big clubs in terms of attendances (over the course of history both in the top 6-7 all time) and have big worldwide fanbases. It's just the trophy hauls of recent years now that might mean chelsea nick it.

I would wager chelsea are seen as a bigger club around europe now? but would be guessing.

Arsenal still the biggest club in London until we win a few more titles and get a bigger stadium.

Can't agree. I think Arsenal are big but I doubt many are alive from there first 4 or 5 league titles.
Ground for me makes no difference either.

Although another few league titles and european titles would be nice for us to definitely be considered.

So 10 years makes up for your 100 years of being a "laughing stock". You even got relegated on a few occasions.

Arsenal are the bigger club historically and all time. Don't think there's a debate on that.

Based on the last decade Chelsea have been more successful. But the bigger club is Arsenal.

no one apart from the history brigade. Doubt City fans care about being smaller than Utd given where both clubs are currently.

Completely depends how you define big club.

We have the recent on pitch success domestically and in Europe, we've got more money and subsequently our brand is bigger and our academy is better.

Arsenal have the historical name and brand recognition that comes with that similar to Liverpool, their facilities are better in particular the stadium, their international fanbase is bigger (though we're catching up fast) and somehow, inexplicably, they've managed to maintain this aura of being a beautiful team to watch in recent times despite playing distinctly average football consistently for years now.

There's no right or wrong answer, all depends on prospective. Only definitive answer is few would argue both of us are bigger than any other London club by whatever measurements they use.

This argument always makes me laugh because because so many folk get what makes a big club completely wrong. Newcastle haven't won a trophy since 1969 yet 52k turn up in the Championship now thats a big club.

Despite no glory hunting support and an empty trophy cabinet Spurs had the 2nd highest average Prem attendance last season (even though Arsenal, West Ham and City falsify theirs).

Its easy to turn up when you're winning but when the chips are down we find out who the big dogs are.
