Do you agree with Nobb that Jose wasn't backed by the club? Only an idiot would think 400 million wasn't a manager being backed, don't you think. Dude.

I'd consider the club getting Jose the players he wanted as backing him. They didn't.

When we signed Jose I thought it could be a great move. I thought he’d have learned from his time at Chelsea and understood the expectations of United fans in terms of seeing good football. I was wrong.

So with hindsight, no, I’d never want Jose. He’s poinsonous, short term and damaging.

Indeed. But the backing stopped this past summer even though he’d just gotten us second place and made a cup final. The club bottled it and didn’t give him what he needed. Hopefully for future managers they see it all the way through and give them all they ask for

The backing didn't stop. The club were willing to spend and had a bid close to £100m rejected for a defender. A bid for Godin was also made. But he used that interest to get a new contract. Maguire was linked but would he have been any better than what we have? And Alderweireld was apparently offered to us but we didn't want to pay the price Tottenham wanted for him.
