Ed hired the following:
LVG - Bad
Giggs - Good
Jose - Bad
Ole - Good

What do the bad have in common?
They're dinosaurs in the modern football landscape.

What do the good have in common?
They're United through and through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Was Giggs good though? Only had 4 games

How nice of you to speak for others.

.....

I was replying to the comment you made when you were speaking on behalf of the majority.

You are being a bit thick again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't speak for anyone else. I posed a question. Chill
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And why did you pose the question when speaking of 'the majority' ?

Did you want someone to answer it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was looking for more opinions rather than one person speaking for "the real fans"

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You have had lots of opinions on here.

Most are contrary to yours.

Never mind though. Nobb is on your side and Wahl will be.

So you agree we should have gone for Allegri. He would have been a good choice too.

I think everybody agrees that Ole is an unknown managerial quantity at this level when appointed. Ole has no track record and baggage unlike Jose had. Ole is a gamble which so far is paying off and has bought United more time to make a considered decision in the summer.

With the fate of Jose hindsight doesn't come into it. It was a considered judgement based on the facts for many more sensible supporters and commentators that Jose would in the end be a disaster. (He was a bit like a no-deal Brexit!)

But crucially, most people agree that removing Jose is the main reason why United's players have sprung to life and started to play for the badge and a less insane manager. Paul Ince takes it too far by saying that anybody could have done what Ole has done post Jose, but I understand the point he is making. United are a still a massive club with loads of money, fans and some very good players. We should be competing in the top 4.

To deny this is quite ridiculous by the Jose fan boys.

Hindsight is actually a wonderful thing as Winston earlier pointed out.

With Jose it wasn't really needed as like a good recurring criminal he had previous.

Where hindsight would have come and shown what a horrific appointment he was at the time was that he came nowhere near the title of winning the CL.

He was leading us further from both when he got his butt kicked out the door.

After two seasons he was certainly not a bad appointment

But even as his second biggest fan on here I can admit it ended badly so ultimately he wasn’t a good appointment. Very few managers end the job as well as they start it so he’s not alone.

Actually, while you’re here a question for you

I’ve been watching a shiiiit ton of Spanish football since I’ve been here and fallen in love with it. Just is played with a lot more emotion than you see in other countries. But this season I’ve found VAR to be a real ‘passion’ killer in games as the stoppages seem to take out the excitement and leads to long periods of waiting around. What are your views on it? Bad for the game? I don’t think english fans know what’s gonna hit them next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I actually love it, Robb. Do an article on it and we can discuss without derailing this one. Or if you prefer, I'll just copy-paste your question and start it myself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ll do an article next week when I have time to commit to it. Glad someone loves it 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As of Thursday then. Will barely have a minute to spare from now until Wednesday. I shouldn't even be here now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m actually watching United live at Fulham next Saturday. Best mates a fulham season ticket holder so I’m sitting with them. Gonna have to be low key when we score 😂. Not looking forward to chilly England
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*If* we score Robb, *if* we score.

Looking forward to seeing you post a prediction for a narrow United loss. Please.

In the end yes. But that doesn't mean he couldnt do a good job for the 2 seasons before his potential breakdown.

Dibble, both LVG and Moyes won things.

I rank them as following:
Ole
Giggs
LVG
Jose.

You could argue that Jose was the worse appointment despite finishing 2nd and winning, as Jose liked to call it, the "Treble".

Exactly. It was probable hed have a breakdown given his past, but Ed wasn't wrong i hoping he could win some major silverware before that happened.

posted on 2/2/19

Yes he was.

As it has shown. He didn't win major silverware. And he left the club in a worse state than he found it due to his predictable third season meltdown.

When we signed Jose I thought it could be a great move. I thought he’d have learned from his time at Chelsea and understood the expectations of United fans in terms of seeing good football. I was wrong.

So with hindsight, no, I’d never want Jose. He’s poinsonous, short term and damaging.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts exactly.

Also noticed a class comment from Robb.

'If he got the backing he needed'

Does anyone take robb seriously

You don't think a UEFA cup, league cup 2nd place finish and FA Cup final doesn't constitute 2 succesful seasons?

Hope isn't the right reason for anyone to be appointing a mamanger of Manchester United.

I am sure Ed hoped Moyes would bring us glory.

Evidence was always against Jose.
