That explains the massacre at the Fist of the First Men in season 3, Hardhome, and the Eastwatch battle....followed by the Battle at Winterfell...

Plus the Hodor scene which started when the undead attack the Three Eyed Raven's tree...

Apparently it was all over in one night, not a series of conflicts seen in the show pretty clearly.

I think the problem is that whilst all those mentioned did build it up, we were told for 7 seasons that there was no way to beat them unless everyone came together and united as one single army. However the reality is only 2 of the 7 kingdoms (north and the vale) actually sent troops to fight them and the dead never made it past the first kingdom they entered.

Someone from Dorne or the Reach probably never even knew the army of the dead was a thing.

True. The fact they didn't make it to Kings Landing is a massive blap to the forehead.

Making of style documentary on Atlantic now.

Went into the documentary thinking that it was going to be something I would turn off after 10 mins but ended up watching it all. Pretty decent, also included the information on how Aarya managed to get up so high to kill the night king (mentioned in the script read through)

I also loved the extra who was a massive GOT nerd and had been a stark guard since one of the early seasons (Think he said he was with Stannis to start with)

Yeah it was a decent watch in the end, usually as you say I don't stick with the behind the scenes stuff all the way through. Mind blowing just seeing the scale of the operations and detail into the sets and organising everything.

Yeah the GOT nerd was good to follow, he was buzzing when he realised he'd got a close up before one of the main battles.

Have to agree with Peks here, they were terrible.

I re-watched S8 a few months ago. It's even worse than I remember

The Long Night would've been pretty good, switching your brain off & enjoying the spectacle, if you could see what was happening. But the rest of it is so f*ckin boring!

That's something I hadn't considered five years ago when I was emotionally invested, the series is just dull.

Highly doubt he'll finish the books, even if he lives to 100.

They will probably get Sanderson to finish them like he did Wheel of Time

Tbh the books are facking boring because of the POV structure (you finish a chapter on a cliffhanger and then have to wait 5+ chapters to get back round to that character)

I only read them because I didn't want to wait for new episodes/seasons to find out what happened
