Bassini back in the Beano and still in the race. So who got kicked out at the first round and how many guessed that one wrong.

Yes, Bassini is back in the mix but hopefully, others who are bidding will be successful. here is the list from TBN.
Local businessman Michael James is among four directors listed in the company, set up in January to facilitate the previous bid. Others involved include Parminder Basran, Sharon Brittan and Jeff Thomas.

Personally, I'm pleased to see Mike James is still involved. He is part of Football venture and it looks to me that he and his fellow directors really do have the best interest of the club at heart. I don't know a lot about Parminda Basran or the others perhaps some can shed some light on these other players?

Swie, you have your fishing rod out, I told you to pay the £25,000 , you would then know who the others were without asking, and I bet you haven’t slept well all this time mulling things over 😉

just over a week to go for the 19/20 fixtures, not sure when our 5 a side list will be released

Golden I have to say that since arriving back in Spain I haven't had time to worry about who is in for the club and who isn't. Regarding sleeping, I have slept a whole lot better since coming home than I did in England. Some mornings I was up at six to get ready to go to my son's house so that Christine and I could get Oliver our grandson off to school and then spend the rest of the day looking after Isabelle, our granddaughter.

Isaac, whoever ends up buying the club will definitely have a lot to do to get us ready for the off. Still, it could be worse, we might have been left without a new owner.

There hasn't been an official retained list issued by the club yet which makes keeping the ins and outs at the top of the thread hard to keep on top off. Curiosity the official website has just issued a list of those players still under contract https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2019/june/club-confirms-current-contracted-players/

I see David Lee is having a punt at gaining the manager's job. Good for him. I would want to see what money and who is available before giving him the nod but I think we would be better off with him than the current incumbent. What are your views?

It's Bassini isn't it?

It may not be !!! Have you got everything crossed 🤞

I don't think it will be Bassini. He didn't or couldn't offer proof of his cash the last time he was involved so what makes you think that he will this time. He has been up against other bidders who will have had to prove that they do have the funds to settle all creditors and run the club for two years.

Tomorrow is the big day to see if everything goes through, otherwise, it's back to the drawing board.

It might be me but the tone of the official announcement suggests an individual not a consortium. We only know Bassini and football ventures not the other 3 bidders.

posted on 13/6/19

Benny, I think you are reading too much into the statement.

"But I can assure all Bolton Wanderers fans that the preferred bidder has both the financial ability and the determination to turn around the fortunes of this great football club."

The preferred bidder could just as well be a consortium as a single buyer. They get one bid for either.

It does sound very promising and personally, I really hope that Football Venture has got the nod. Mike James has already shown that he loves the club. We will see.

a million quid aint going to go far

Some one let slip that FV are to get the nod.

Who is it that does the notes on the official website anyway? At least twice, 3 times? it has announced the club sold and everything is rosy in the garden and then nothing.

Well that's a relief If Marc iles is right. Been bricking it all day that Bassini had got it. Let's see how deep fv pockets are.

Sharron Brittan to be chairman and rumours David Lee will be promoted to manager. The day gets better.

be interesting to see who the actual backers of FV are, If Nixon is correct in saying new backers on the FV team

If it's true, It's what I was hoping for. At least we would have some seriously interested local people involved with the club, instead of someone who lives in Monaco and had probably never been to Bolton until he saw a possible way of making some easy cash.

What we knew a few days ago has come to be ratified. Neil Lennon's Celtic are after Luca Connell. Here is the link. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17705401.celtic-make-official-bid-for-luca-connell-at-bolton-wanderers/

It isn't as bad as it could have been but we will need to see what the new owners want to do if anything.

It's been Good News Bad News recently expect the player merry go round to start proper as clubs sort through their retained and wish lists.
In the swie link a reminder of the job waiting for somebody with a big list of players whose contract expire this summer.
Can Benny squeeze the expired list into a new section at the top if all goes well that section should get busy I hope we can squeeze a manager section in very soon.

drat my head hurts the list of expired is here not in the swie link stated above

Yes, I've seen that pasty. Regardless, I would think that you and all BWFC fans have a smile on their faces today. This could be the beginning of a new exciting chapter in our history.

Just a thought before I go shopping with Christine. If there is a new investor who has joined Football ventures, it could be anybody but one name comes to my mind who it possibly could be is Tommy Morrison, the owner of Home Bargains. He is a very good friend of Mike James, he's loaded and he is a football man. However, he is an Everton fan but I don't think that would necessarily rule him out.

Anyone else got any thoughts on who it might be?
